Has the pandemic made you a cocktail-making connoisseur, spending evenings getting familiar with spirits, liqueurs and maraschino cherries? Spiritually feeling the head nods, I claim you as my people. As such, you may have also found yourselves scanning your “barware” collection only to find sippy cups and hardy Ikea-type tumblers among the crowd. Again, I feel you. You put in all this work to create a delicious Whiskey Sour or Old-Fashioned only to have it rest in a chalice unworthy of its weight. I understand your complicated emotions. Which is why I was tickled to learn that Cheeky’s Vintage – full of eclectic bar, table and kitchenware – will be having its grand opening this Saturday (10/2) at its new location in Hyattsville!
“The Big Tuna” is coming to Route 1
The Big Tuna. No, it’s not a new Subway sandwich, although it is occurring near a Subway store…. The Big Tuna is a giant, portable, woodblock printing press that reels off large-scale versions of area artists’ block prints. This touring hunk of artistic love is making a two-day stop at Pyramid Atlantic Arts Center in Hyattsville on October 9th and 10th.
Does Hyattsville Have a Secret Pizza Garden? Yes, and Ramona’s Pizza Garden is delish!
While mindlessly scrolling through our Instagram feed a while back, we came across what can only be described as the type of picture a hawt pizza would post to its Bumble profile if it were a human. With its crispy edges, perfect cheese-top-to-sauce-bottom ratio and seasonally stylish toppings, this pizza de Ramona’s Pizza Garden was a 10. (And this is where the veering-into-creepyland anthropomorphizing will stop.)
