Take a Hike! Greenbelt Park

Exploring the Great Outdoors at Greenbelt Park!

When the warmer weather arrives, we’ll all be itching to enjoy the outdoors, amirite?!? Lucky for us, we’ve got a ton of great, local options to do just that, including nearby Greenbelt Park! With nine miles of trails and three picnic areas, it’s a great place to explore the Great Outdoors!
There are four different trails you can take to explore the park: Blueberry Trail is 0.8 miles; Dogwood Trail is 1.5 miles; Azalea Trail is 1.2 miles and Perimeter Trail is 5.3 miles. (Word of caution: These trails are not paved; they’re packed dirt/gravel; pointing this out for folks like my mom, who loves the outdoors but needs a flat surface on which to enjoy such.)

There’s a fungus among us!
The trails are mostly shaded, so even on warm days, a hike/walk here is a nice respite from the drones of modern life. Speaking of modern life, how do you like my boy’s new home? 😉

While we only did the short trail, I’ve been told that if you do the long, perimeter trail, you will encounter at least three difficult hills, even for experienced hikers. Like these jokers, below.
Another shining star here is that there’s no entry fee, making it another great way to explore and enjoy our local neighborhoods, Route One!  (There is a fee for overnight camping, but that’s not the gist of this post and really, can you imagine me camping? No. Glamping, maybe. 😎)
Greenbelt Park is located at 6565 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, Maryland.
