Gymnastics Workshop / Open Gym at PG Sports & Learning Complex
This place is really great for 1-12 year olds! HUGE. Two climbing walls. Two foam pits. Tons of equipment for curious ones to explore and blow off some steam. Very clean. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parents are required to be on the floor with the children (Maximum 3 child:1 adult). Check out my review here!

Bookworm Bookends
Celebrate your child’s devotion to reading in our book lover’s hands-on workshop. Together you and your child can build a set of bookworm bookends to add personality, organization and excitement to bookshelves in any playroom, family room or bedroom.

Blast-in-the-Past: A Hands-On History Playground
Montpelier grounds are turned into a kid-sized colonial village, complete with trades, town square, home, farm – everything you need for a trip back in time. (We checked this out – fun, low-fi way to spend a morning or afternoon! If you go, build in some time to check out the latest exhibit at the Arts Center. And put on sunscreen.)

Crafternoon: Dance Painting! (Ages 0-5)

Riverdale Park Station Bear Square Fountain!
Kids love to splash around this fountain right across from Whole Foods. Seating surrounds the area so it’s possible you can catch a quick break/sit down while your kiddo plays in the water. Pack or lunch or buy from any one of the many nearby spots.

Take a Hike!
Tree canopies make being outside much more bearable, so head to a nearby park and go for a hike! We’ve enjoyed taking hikes at Greenbelt park *Note: As with any hike, make sure to check for ticks during and after your hike! 🙂

Indian Creek Playground
Any time this weekend, check out this really fun and creative playground designed after Berwyn Heights’ earliest residents – a group of Algonquian people known as Nacotchtank.
