Kid-friendly fun all weekend along our beloved Route 1 Corridor! Friday looks to be a bit rainy so plenty of indoor activities to keep little hands busy. Saturday and Sunday look fantastic – which is double fantastic as there are so many fun outdoor and indoor things to do (including Maryland Day and a Pancake Fly-in in College Park, a Peter Rabbit Remix in Mount Rainier, Spring Celebration in Riverdale Park and more! Friday Activities Along Route 1 Corridor
Watkins Nature Center (All Ages)
Checked out this nature center yet? Great place to explore, especially when the weather’s gloomy! Full of birds, snakes, insects, reptiles amphibians as well as puppets / dress-up and roomy enough for little legs to carefully run around. Did we mention it’s free?

Wegmans Wonderplace (Toddlers represent)
Does your kiddo love grocery stores or stacking (and perhaps hoarding) play vegetables? Then this is the place for you all! Located inside the National Museum of American History, this free spot will keep your kiddo occupied for a good hour or so – then you can all check out the rest of this amazing museum!

Explore! at the National Portrait Gallery (Best up to 8 years old)
Bring the kid(s) to one of the coolest museums in DC! Follow my itinerary in here, including a stop-off at their Explore! Room and you’ll be all set to have a great time!

Bounce! A Peter Rabbit Remix (All Ages)
An energetic play with music and dance for kids of all ages that tells the story of a city struggling between greed and friendship. A family-friendly, engaging performance for all!

Gymnastics Workshop / Open Gym at PG Sports & Learning Complex (Ages 0-12)
This place is really great for 1-12-year-olds! HUGE. Two climbing walls. Two foam pits. Tons of equipment for curious ones to explore and blow off some steam. Very clean. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parents are required to be on the floor with the children (Maximum 3 child:1 adult). Travel tips and our rec here!

Starpower National Talent Competition (All Ages)
A highly competitive dance competition where performers of all ages and levels worldwide showcase talent. Bring the entire family, cheer for the dancers! See the program rundown here

Maryland Day 2019: Explore the World (All Ages)
Happy 21nd birthday to this annual campus-wide open house event. Features include artistic performances, demonstrations and other family friendly activities around University of Maryland’s campus, The Clarice and MilkBoy ArtHouse. A day of frolicking with the fam!

Pancake Fly-In (All Ages)
Get your day started with a hearty pancake breakfast and some lawn games on the historic College Park Airfield right next to the College Park Aviation Museum. Keep an eye out for planes taking off and landing at this rain or shine event while you enjoy your meal. Donations will support the airport and museum and include free admission to the museum! Registration strongly recommended.

Wellness in the Woods: A Family Zen Festival (All Ages)
