It’s finally feeling like fall outside (well, maybe fall in San Fran? 😉 and there are plenty of local, kid-friendly fall festivals near Route 1 to help us celebrate the occasion! One even as if you were in Belgium! From balloon twisting, face painting, pumpkin carving, hayrides and beer. YES BEER – we’ve got it all inside Route One Fun’s 2019 Fall Festivals Guide! Fall Festivals Near Route 1 Corridor & DC
Frager’s Fall Festival
Balloon twisting, pumpkin carving & painting, cook out & more!
When: Saturday, October 12th, 10am-2pm
Where: Frager’s Garden Center, DC
Cost: Free!
Festival del Rio Anacostia
Bring the family and celebrate the outdoors and the Anacostia River. From hands-on activities, crafts, entertainment, delicious ethnic food and more, there’s something for everyone!
When: Saturday, October 12th, 11am-4pm
Where: Bladensburg Waterfront Park, Bladensburg
Cost: Free!
Oktoberfest
Face painting, glitter tattoos, pumpkin decorating, arts n crafts, stilt walkers and jugglers.
When: Saturday, October 12th, 12-8pm (Kids activities from 12-4pm)
Where: The Station at Riverdale Park
Cost: Free! (Though bring money for food and beer!)
Fall Harvest Festival
Hayrides, farm animals, face painting, farmhouse tour, arts and crafts, food vendors and more!

Where: Kinder Farm Park, Millersville (around 45-minute drive)

Belgian Fall Fest
Celebrate fall the Belgian way! Experience Belgian culture, food, drink, crafts, and music during Mrs. Calvert’s favorite season.

Where: Riversdale House Museum, Riverdale Park
Cost: Free! (Food ticket: $5; $1 beverage)
Family Fall Festival
Enjoy an afternoon of harvest fun with games, arts & craft activities, a petting zoo, a moon bounce, live performances and more!
When: Saturday, October 12th, 1-4pm
Where: Wayne K. Curry Sports & Learning Center, 8001 Sheriff Rd, Landover
Cost: $7+ (Children age 2 and younger are FREE with paying adult)
The Great Pumpkin Patch
Enjoy a hayride, inflatables, face painting, a petting zoo, pumpkin decorating, and so much more. Don’t forget to bring your best candy-collecting bag and hop on the Trick or Treat Trail to meet-n-greet with your favorite cartoon, superhero, or movie characters.
When: Saturday, October 12th & Sunday, October 13th, 10am-4pm
Where: Old National Pike Park, Mt. Airy (around an hour’s drive)

American Indian Festival
Celebrate the rich and diverse cultures of Native Americans at the 11th Annual American Indian Festival. Featuring live music, drumming, singing, dancing, storytelling, interactive exhibits, demonstrations, American Indian games, archery and more!

Brentwood’s First Fall Fest
Enjoy an afternoon of music, art, and refreshments. This free, family-friendly event will showcase some great local bands and DJs, as well as art vendors and art demonstrations (Denizens Beer Garden, too!)

Where: Brentwood Town Hall, Brentwood
