HAP Fundraiser – Community Wide Yard Sale
Hyattsville Aging in Place (HAP) is participating in the Hyattsville City Wide Yard Sale. HAP members cleaned out their attics and closets of household items for a fundraising yard sale. All proceeds will be used to support HAP’s programs throughout the year.

“Colored Folks” We come in every shade
Opening reception – Colored Folks, We come in every shade is an art exhibit that shows people mostly, as we really are. A mixture of colors, sizes and differences. This show is a collection of paintings celebrating our differences and how we complement each other.

The Eastern Standard Time Jazz Quartet
One of the country’s foremost woodwind artists, Chris Vadala has appeared on more than 100 recordings to date, as well as innumerable jingle sessions and film and TV scores. Enjoy jazz standards and original compositions from his recent album “Eastern Standard Time” during this performance.

UMD Wind Orchestra: Exotic Birds
Faculty member Rita Sloan joins UMWO for a performance of Messiaen’s showpiece Oiseaux Exotiques – a dazzling mixture of songs taken from birds throughout the world.

Azalea Classic Join the University Park community for a morning of family-friendly fun and fitness for the 16th Annual Azalea Classic. The Azalea Classic has a race for everyone! Choose from our USATF certified 5K, our 1 Mile Challenge or our 1K Family Fun Run. All races take place on quiet, azalea-lined streets in University Park.
When: 8:30am (1 Mile Challenge); 8:45am (1K Family Run); 9:05 (5K)

Arbor Day Celebration
Celebrate Arbor Day with a tree restoration planting volunteer opportunity. We’ll be planting native trees and shrubs at Buddy Attick Park.

HY-SWAP!Join this free exchange of infant, children’s and maternity clothing, gear and toys, presented by a group of local moms. Browse the pop-up boutique and take any items that will be useful to your family.

Decanter Wine & Racing Festival
Kick off your Spring with Maryland wine at Decanter Wine Festival! Enjoy live turf and dirt races, sample a variety of Maryland Wine, enjoy local food and artisans and tap your feet to live music. Be on the horses and stock up your wine cellar!

2nd Annual Peeps Day! Join us for the second annual PEEPS Day, celebrating everyone’s favorite treat! We’ll have kids’ activities, a DJ, the PEEPS mascot, a movie and the National Harbor World PEEPS Eating Championship, hosted by Major League Eating! There will also be a moon bounce maze, a climbing wall, cornhole, facepainting and more!

Opera Resonates: Gender-Bending on the Opera Stage
Women play men regularly in opera. For centuries, higher voices were equated with nobility, purity and even virility. What does this say about attitudes toward gender and the transgendered in ages past? What is our experience today in watching women play romantic male leads and heroes? Sociology, psychology and politics collide in music.

Public Reception: Barbara Talbott
After 30 years as an advertising photographer, graphic designer and computer illustrator, Talbott brings this experience into her work. While at MICA, she studied the textural works of Jasper Johns, Jim Dine and Frank Stella.
