It’s Route One Fun’s Grocery Store Update time for March 27th! You know the drill – but just in case: If you’re going grocery store shopping today, please leave a comment below with what you see/don’t see (extra eyes for toilet paper, meats, and notes on how well folks are keeping their distance).
Route 1 Grocery Store Update: 3/26
It’s the morning which means it’s Route One Fun’s Grocery Store Update time! Where our morning shoppers at?! Drop a comment below letting your Route 1 friends and neighbors know what you see at the grocery stores along the Route 1 corridor. Produce? Meat? Dairy? TP? Cleaning supplies? Ppl keeping their distance? Do tell! 🙏🏻 Your insight will help the rest of us figure out where to go/not go – and less time at places where you don’t need to be = less risk of exposure to coronavirus. Let’s keep doing our part to help each other out! 🙌
Get Yr Instant PGCMLS Library Card Today!
At times like this, books are a special refuge for us. They take us to places beyond our backyard, all without lifting a foot. Which is why I was delighted to learn that despite our libraries being physically closed, you can still access the PGCMLS library virtually. This includes e-books, audiobooks, digital comics, music, movies, TV and educational resources. The Library’s Digital Suite and 85+ online resources are available 24/7.
Greenbelt Co-op Adds Seniors-Only Shopping Hours
You can now add Greenbelt Co-op Supermarket & Pharmacy to Route One Fun’s list of local grocery stores offering special shopping times for seniors and other vulnerable shoppers.
Effective today, Wednesday, March 25th, seniors (ages 60 and better) and other vulnerable shoppers can shop at the Greenbelt Co-op from 7am to 9am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Doors will open to all after 9am on those days.
Route 1 Grocery Store Update: 3/25
So happy to hear that folks are finding these grocery store update posts to be useful – and even more accessible now that they’re also on the website!
As you may have noticed from yesterday’s post, we’re entering your insights and cross-posting any information we receive into the comments section for that day’s post. Please know, though, that you’re all also welcome (and it would help save/speed up things on this end) to enter your info into the comments themselves.
Thank you, all! We’ve been doing this for over a week now and love hearing how folks are making good use of the info. Let’s keep it up! If you’re heading to the store today, please come back here and comment on what you see! 🙂
Grocery Store Update: 3/24/20 Tuesday
Here at Route One Fun, we’ve been posting daily Grocery Store Updates to our Facebook and Instagram pages. With these posts, followers comment with what they see or don’t see at any of our local grocery stores. For instance, yesterday, Drena let us know that Safeway in Hyattsville was well-stocked while Lisa P commented that if it’s toilet paper you want, forget about going to Aldi in Hyattsville.
In addition to helping us be more efficient with our time, these posts are critical to helping us all reduce our exposure to coronavirus vectors (read: other humans).
We realize, though, that not everyone is on social media. To make sure that as many folks have access to this community knowledge-drop, we’ll be doing daily Grocery Store posts on the website, here. I’ll cross-post as best I can with comments that are posted to our social media platforms. As for what you can do – please share this post so that folks know that there’s a resource like this for all to use and share / collect information.
