FRIDAY

⭐ Storytime PopUp! @ The Waterhole (Best for ages 0-3)
Storytime tucked inside a delicious juice bar in Mount Rainier! Curious? Check out my post about Storytime here. While in Mt. Rainier, why not fill out your morning with a visit to the nearby Nature Center (also free!).
When: 10am

⭐ Gymboramba/Tumblebugs (Ages 0-5)
When: 11am-3pm
Where: Greenbelt Youth Center Gym, 99 Centerway, Greenbelt
Cost: Free for furloughed workers (unclear of cost otherwise)

⭐ Family Happy Hour with King Bullfrog
Route One Fun reader C. Harper reached out to share that King Bullfrog will be performing with high-energy original, folk and blues songs tailored to get children dancing and delight grownups and it’s free for furloughed employees and their kiddos. (Just see info here to register.)
When: 5-7pm
Where: Hill Center, 921 Pennsylvania Ave SE, Washington DC
Cost: $10 child; $5 adult

SATURDAY

Toddler Time @ Art Works Now
Open studio time for toddlers and their accompanying adults. Even the youngest children can explore a variety of age-appropriate art materials in a safe, fun environment. What to expect? Read my review of Toddler Time at Art Works Now.

PINBALL! (Ages 5+)
At time of drafting this, rain is in the forecast for Saturday so including this indoor option for the 5+ crowd (really best for 5+ though all are welcome)! Over 29 pinball machines to choose from! See what fun we had at MOM’s here!
When: 9am-9pm
Where: MOM’s College Park
Cost: Up to you! (Bring dollars/quarters (they have a change machine). Most games are 50 cents to play.)

⭐ Spanish English Ready 2 Read Storytime (Ages 3-5)
Stories, Fingerplays, and songs will be presented in Spanish and English.
When: 3-3:30pm
Where: New Carrollton Library
Cost: Free!

⭐ UMD Gymnastics, Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Meet & Silent Auction
Come out to watch the Maryland Gymnastics team host Big Ten opponent No. 8 Michigan! Fans are encouraged to wear purple to support Cystic Fibrosis Awareness. (We’ve been to these meets. Always a fun (and free) way to watch these talented gymnasts!)
When: 7pm
Where: Xfinity Center, 8500 Campus Drive, College Park
Cost: Free!

SUNDAY

(Forecast for today is relatively mild so outdoor fun it is!)

⭐ Indian Creek Playground (All Ages)
Check out this really fun and creative playground designed after Berwyn Heights’ earliest residents – a group of Algonquian people known as Nacotchtank. Kiddos will have a blast climbing teepees, in an out of canoes and up and down dream catchers. If you get hungry afterwards, check out nearby Fishnet restaurant.
When: Sunrise to sunset

⭐ Bladensburg Waterfront Park
Head to Bladensburg Waterfront Park (BWP) for some outdoor fun! Kiddos can hit up the playground by the entrance, monkey about in the old B & O caboose, skip along the Anacostia River Trail, then pick up some cool stones to paint later when you return home.
When: Sunrise to Sunset
Where: Start at BWP, 4601 Annapolis Road, Bladensburg
Cost: Free!

Family Fun Bowling Bash
Includes unlimited bowling, shoe rental, soda and pizza.
When: 1-4pm
Where: Bowlero, College Park
Cost: $5 a person (for the 1st 100 City of College Park residents. Proof of residency required.)
