Sunset Boat Tour on Patuxent River Park. Swoon!

Many fun events this weekend along the Route 1 Corridor including live music at Riverdale Park Station, Comedy & BBQ at Hyattsville’s Maryland Meadworks, Azalea Bonsai in Bloom at the National Arboretum, Go for a run with College Park Parkrun, emjoy traditional music of Ireland, Scotland and Appalachia in Greenbelt & more – all in here!

Friday

POSH Morning Ride
Start the day off right with an early morning spin class. Your body will thank you!
When: 6am
Where: Posh Cycling & Fitness, College Park
Cost: $10

Summer Music Concert
It’s back, my friends. The summer music concert series featuring artists from the DMV. Grab some food at one of the nearby establishments and have a good time!
When: 6-8pm
Where: Riverdale Park Station, College Park
Cost: Free!

Yoga & Jazz
Practice yoga with live jazz music playing. Wear comfortable clothing and bring your yoga mat. Space is limited so arrive early!
When: 7-8:30pm
Where: Montpelier Arts Center, 9652 Muirkirk Road, Laurel
Cost: Free!

Saturday

College Park ParkRun 
Head out on for a weekly, free, 5K, timed run. Great camaraderie and sense of community here.
When: Saturdays at 9 a.m.
Where: Paint Branch Trail, 4289 Metzerott Road, College Park
Cost: Free but please register before your first run.

Fantasy Wood Festival (All Ages)
Take a walk in the woods, discover magical creatures like mermaids and fairies. Watch live demos with knights. See a live unicorn! Outdoor activities/events for everyone!
When: 10am-3pm
Where: 10431 Patuxent Parkway, Colombia

Garden Tour – Franciscan Monastery
If you haven’t checked out the beautiful grounds of the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land (in Brookland), let today be your day! Breathtaking! More on our time at the Franciscan Monastery here.
When: 11am and 12pm
Where: 1400 Quincy Street NE, Washington DC 20017
Cost: Free!

Comedy & BBQ
Three comedians and Texas-style BBQ under one roof. Come out for laughs and sticky fingers. Napkins provided 🙂
When: 6-10pm
Where: Maryland Meadworks, Hyattsville
Cost: Free!, but space limited, reserve a seat in advance here

Sunset Boat Tour (All Ages)
Cruise on the Patuxent River in a pontoon boat. See animals in their natural habitats. It’s a boat ride you won’t forget!
When: 6:30-8pm
Where: Patuxent River Park, 16000 Croom Airport Road, Upper Marlboro
Cost: $5

Sunday

Paws in the Park
Bring your furry friends to the dog park for a fun-filled day of doggy play.
When: 9-11am
Where: Nicholson Road and Ager Road, Hyattsville
Cost: Free!

Bonsai Bling: Azalea Bonsai in Bloom
Come check out some Japanese azalea blossoms in bloom at this annual springtime showcase. There are plenty of trails and other outdoor exhibits to discover (or rediscover!) if the blossoms aren’t at their peak.
When: 10am-4pm
Where: National Arboretum, 3501 New York Avenue, NE, Washington, DC
Cost: Free!

Anacostia River Pontoon Boat Tour
Come aboard our pontoon boat for an interpretive river boat tour of the scenic Anacostia River!
When: 5pm
Where: Bladensburg Waterfront Park, Bladensburg
Cost: $2+

Tinsmith (All Ages)
A high energy folk band is playing traditional music of Ireland, Scotland and Appalachia. Come hear them play!
When: 7-9pm
Where: 113 Centerway, Greenbelt
Cost: Free!, space limited, reserve a seat in advance here
