Mardi Gras 5K
Celebrate Mardi Gras at Riverdale Park Station. We’ll have a 5K race, 2 mile walk adn a 1K Kids Fun Run. Beads, King Cake, brass band and even Denizens beer (for adult finishers)!

Dinosaur Park Open House & Fossil Deposit Interpretation
Meet paleontologists, learn about Maryland prehistory, and search an active fossil site for 115 million-year-old remains of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals! We took the kids here and they loved it! Now – it’s pretty bare bones (pun intended); no amenities – basically an open archaeological site behind some warehouses. But if your kids have adventurous minds and love discovering prehistoric things, then it’s worth a visit. Tip: While you’re in the area, why not also check out the Kids Room at the newly renovated Laurel Public Library. My post about it, here.

When superheroes first appeared in comic books, many minority groups were heavily underrepresented. This exciting program and exhibit will celebrate the many fierce black women superheroes & villains of comic books, television, and the big screen.

Have fun in this STEM-inspired playroom located in the basement of the Laurel Historical Society, filled with crafts and activities designed to teach the young’ns a bit about the history of Laurel.

10th Annual Irish Celebration
Join St. Jerome’s community for this annual celebration of all things Irish! There will be traditional Irish food and drink, bake sale, entertaining pub songs, bagpipers and more. Kids can decorate cupcakes and don glitter tattoos for $1 each. Raffle drawing and more!
