Get a head start on your weekend plans with Route One Fun’s Kids Weekend Guide! Plenty of fun and mostly free ideas for fun things to do with the kids along the Route 1 corridor of Prince George’s County, Maryland!
FRIDAY
Hyper Kidz – Indoor Playground
Let the kiddos burn off some energy at this huge indoor playground (and a weekday is the best time to do so here)! Check out what to see and do from our time at Hyper Kidz Playground!
When: 9am-8pm
Where: Hyper Kidz, Columbia
Cost: $14 ages 1-2; $16 ages 3-13 (mention “Route One Fun” at register for $2/off ticket!)
Check out this new music class for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and the grownups who love them! Little ones love playing along in class and caregivers love being a part of their children’s growth into confident music-makers!
When: 9:30-10:15am
Where: University Christian Church, 6800 Adelphi Rd, Hyattsville
Cost: Free!

Super Saver Ice Skating!
Huge indoor ice skating rink with a warming hut and a snack bar – what else do you need?! We did this before & enjoyed it; they have these plastic push things (words…?) to guide a beginner along.
When: 3:15-5:15pm
Where: Herbert Wells Ice Rink, 5211 Campus Drive, College Park
Cost: $4 (skate rental included)!
This place is really great for 1-12 year olds! HUGE. Two climbing walls. Two foam pits. Tons of equipment for curious ones to explore and blow off some steam. Check out our time at Open Gym here!

SATURDAY
Posh Yoga Kids (Ages 4-10)
Teach children about mindfulness of their body through a series of basic yoga moves.
When: 9am

Jitterbug Club (Ages 2-6)
New class! Kiddos 2-6 will love this open play date filled with movement, music and fun (taught by Kendra and Marcel, 2 instructors at Joe’s who are SOOOO good with kids and who the kiddos love!)

Gametime @ Board & Brew (Best for ages 4+)
When: Opens at 9am
Where: 8150 Baltimore Ave, College Park
Cost: (Before 4pm) $2.50 p/p for games + the cost of whatever you may order from menu.
Experience the rich culture of West Africa with DC dance company, Soul in Motion. Your child will drum away and be swept up in the colorful costumes, spirited movements, and energetic drumming rhythms of this expert ensemble.
When: 1-3pm

Smaland at College Park’s Ikea
Kids play in indoor playground while yo enjoy some shopping or just relax/eat/peoplewatch at the restaurant upstairs. Kiddos must be potty trained and be 37” to 54” tall (so children typically b/w ages of 3-6). Tips: (1) Best to arrive earlier on in the day as day progresses, so do the entrances lines; & (2) Join Ikea Family & kids get extra 30 minutes to play (depending on capacity) & you get free mildly-decent coffee!

Barre with Mom (or Dad) & Me (Ages 3-8)
Sign up for barre with your kids! One adult per kid though if both parents want to accompany the same kiddo, that works, too!

GymTerps Open Season at Home
The Maryland gymnastics team opens the 2019 season with free admission and $1 popcorn special. The GymTerps will face Cortland, Penn and West Chester at the XFINITY Center.

STEM-Fun at Diven’s Den
