It’s mating season for toads and frogs! Come learn about the many different amphibians we have here at Patuxent through hands-on games and activities for all ages. This is a drop-in program — come when you can and leave when you’re ready.
Paint Branch Parkway Park Playground (All Ages)
Get outside and check out this recently renovated playground, rivaling any great playground you’ve been to in DC, NYC or anywhere! Among other great things, its fireman’s pole use a fun hydraulic lift to boost kids (and adventurous adults…) up and down a log plank is a blast! (I know some folks have had trouble locating this playground, so sharing some notes from our recent visit: If heading north on Route 1, make R on to Campus Drive, pass Aviation Museum, pass Ice Skating rink and shortly thereafter, will see small sign for “Calvert Road” (as well as sign for “Paint Branch Parkway” & “Disc Golf”). Make L and playground will be down a bit on your left.)

Any time this weekend, check out this really fun and creative playground designed after Berwyn Heights’ earliest residents – a group of Algonquian people known as Nacotchtank. Pack a picnic, check out the duck pond and then have fun at 1 of the 3 playgrounds at this park! There’s one right at the entrance off of Wells Blvd but if you wander a bit on the bike path you’ll find there’s an even bigger one just down to the right with structures for the toddler and 5-12 crew.

Kids’ Passport to Maryland History (Ages 5-12)
Travel through Maryland history with crafts and activities for school-aged children. Fill up your “passport” to earn a Maryland Junior Historian certificate.

Spring Egg Hunt
It’s the City of College Park’s Annual Spring Egg Hunt! Join us for a spring-time fun egg hunt. There will be face painting, games, prizes, arts and crafts, meet the Bunny and more!

Explore! Mission Mobile Bus (Ages 5+)
Kids will get to explore the Solar System during an out of this world 20 minute tour from the Sun to Pluto. Space is limited. Reserve here! Stop by the Whole Foods Market stand outside for lemonade and cookies. Proceeds will benefit the Whole Planet Foundation.

Easter Egg Dyeing Workshop
Fun! Glitter! Eggs! Enjoy all three at this free family-friendly workshop. Create beautiful decorated eggs that will impress friends and even the Easter Bunny. Children will receive their first two eggs for free. Additional eggs will be available to purchase 2 for $1.

The 2018 Game of Step is a high school step competition hosted by the Lady Raiders and Dem’ Raider Boyz of Eleanor Roosevelt High School. Come witness some of the best step teams from around the country battle for the throne!
