Local Ways to Give Back this Holiday Season

Searching for ways to give back this holiday season? We’ve got two great local drives for you along Route 1! Creative Saints Loft (just above Chez Dior) is running a toiletries drive benefiting homeless youth and Vigilante Coffee is accepting donations of canned and dry goods (at their Roastery) which will be donated to a local food bank.

Donations Drives happening along Route 1 Corridor

More on how you can help and support our friends, neighbors and community with these two drives, below. Know of more local ways to help this holiday season? Add them to the comments below!

Toiletry Drive to Benefit Homeless Youth

Got any extra toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, feminine products – basically anything you use regularly to keep yourself so fresh and so clean (clean!) – hanging around? Then please consider donating these items to a local toiletries drive benefiting the Promise Place Youth Shelter in Capitol Heights. (This shelter is one of Sasha Bruce’s 24-hour emergency youth shelters located in Capitol Heights, Maryland.)

How to Donate

Drop by Hyattsville’s Creative Saints Loft (just above Chez Dior restaurant) until December 31st, Monday – Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and bring in any of the items listed below to be a champion against homelessness:
  • Toothbrushes & Toothpaste
  • Liquid or Bar Soap
  • Body & Face Creams
  • Shampoo & Conditioner
  • Shaving Cream
  • Razors
  • Feminine Products
  • Mouthwash
  • Brushes & Combs
  • Deodorant
  • Hair Styling Products
  • Nail Clippers

(Creative Saints Loft X Incredible Designs have partnered with On.Us.Tees and Sasha Bruce Youthwork for a month long toiletry drive to benefit homeless youth.)

Creative Saints Loft is located at 5124-B Baltimore Ave, Hyattsville

Canned Food Drive to Benefit Crossover Church Food Pantry

This holiday season, Vigilante Coffee will be accepting donation of can goods and non-perishables for those in need in our local area. Donations, big or small, will be accepted at Vigilante’s Hyattsville location until December 22nd. They will then transport all collected foods to the Hyattsville-based Crossover Church Food Pantry. 🤗
