Buy, Sell Vinyl Records, CDs+ at Route 1’s Sonidos! Music & More

Got vinyl records to sell? Searching for records to buy, Route 1? Then get thee to Sonidos! Music & More pronto! This new, woman-owned and run DC area music shop off of Route 1 buys, sells and trades vinyl records, CDs, books, video and more.

Sonidos Music Shop in Beltsville

Sonidos! is conveniently located in Beltsville, next to Atomic Music & Old Line Wine and a stone’s throw from Costco – what more could you want? What’s that? How about a music selection that’s all killer, no filler? Done and Done. After all, this woman was born with a record between her arms. Say what? Read on for more on this detail and Sonidos Music Shop!

Sonidos Music & More

DC music lovers rejoice as Sonidos! is packed with records spanning genres from A to Z (that would be “Alternative” to “Zydeco,” specifically). 🤓

Inside new record store in Beltsville

We spy The Low End Theory, Eurythmics, Kendrick Lamar and more!

While there, we found a bunch of fun 70s funk, punk rock and hip-hop albums that we just wanted to take home! And with listening stations for both CDs and vinyl, we were able to test out the merch, a la Tower Records-style (or Barnes & Noble / Borders Books-style). Ah, loves me some records store magic!

Birth, Tower Records, Joe’s Record Paradise

So. The story: A music lover to the core, Claudia came into this world with a 7″ vinyl cradled between her arms. While it made delivery quite tricky for her moms, it’s a perfect example of how music is just in this woman’s DNA.

Claudia, owner of Sonidos Music Shop

Between working at Tower Records and then Joe’s Record Paradise for over a decade, Claudia knows a thing or two about pretty much every music genre and calls upon this incredible knowledge when curating her killer collection for Sonidos!

All Killer, No Filler

From the colorful posters lining the walls to the records lining the shop’s shelves, Sonidos! Music & More is packed with everything you’d want from a record store and absent of the filler you so often come across while culling the bins at Value Village. So instead of leaving empty-handed and with dry, dusty fingers, you’ll leave Sonidos! with records galore scored at a price you can afford!

Sell Vinyl Records, CDs, Books & Videos

What if instead of buying, you’ve got a record, CD, book or video collection (big or small) in good condition that you’d like to sell to Sonidos? Then hook it up and make that money, my friend. But before you do:

  • Call Sonidos! Claudia will happily chat with you and let you know whether the visit’s worth your respective time. From there, you can either set up an appointment for Mondays or Tuesday or you’re welcome to visit during normal business hours (so long as Claudia knows to expect you). And know that full-length vinyl LPs will always take precedence over any other form of media.

Mamma Like

While Claudia’s open to all sorts of genres, the following sell well and thus, quickly open doors at Sonidos!: Rock, Metal, New Wave / Punk / “Alternative”, Hip Hop, Funk/Soul, Jazz, Oddball Stuff like sound effects, bird calls, field recordings, and things of that nature. She also buy audiocassettes, VHS tapes, CDs, DVDs, etc. Just call ahead, friends.

Give to Uncle Randy

And for the yin to this yang, the following don’t really sell so well at a Record Shop so go ahead and regift to Uncle Randy this holiday season: Classical, Showtunes, Folk, and some Classic Pop like Judy Collins, Liberace. Unsure? Call and chat with Claudia. She’s lovely.

Zines, Posters, Counter Culture Books, Pins

Got any rockin’ posters, pins or counter / pop culture books to sell? Then Claudia wants to hear from you, too! How else is she going to line her shop’s walls with frame-worthy-but-not-framebridge-framed posters like the ones below? Help a sista out.

So there you have it, Route 1. We’ve got a new, rockin’, woman-owned record store in town – so do us all a favor and check it out! If not for yourself, then maybe a gift certificate for that relative or friend of yours who digs music? Another way to support and shop local this holiday season!

Buy Gift Certificates at Sonidos!

Visit Sonidos! Music & More at 11011-B Baltimore Ave, Beltsville, MD 20705, around the corner from Atomic Music. There is a full parking lot available.

The store is open between 12pm – 8pm, Wednesday – Friday, 12pm-6pm Saturday, 12pm-5pm Sunday and closed Monday – Tuesday.
