Y’all ready for some rolled ice-cream?!? Thai ice-cream rolls that is? Us, too! 520 Ice Cream & Tea is bringing its Thai-inspired, homemade stir-fried ice-cream rolls to College Park later this year. With locations in Springfield and Fairfax in Virginia as well as locations in Rockville, Bethesda – this will be the fifth location in the DMV.

Gangster Vegan Organics Coming to Riverdale Park

We’ll soon have a new vegan restaurant to add to our menu of options (get it?!?) dear Route 1 buds! Pennsylvania vegan eatery Gangster Vegan Organics will be bringing its plant-based food and juice menu to Riverdale Park this fall (along same strip as Bikram Yoga Wellness and Banana Blossom Bistro)!

Kids Love Veggies at Eco City Farms (& Smoothie Recipe!)

ECO City Farms recently hosted a Kids Love Veggies workshop at their Edmonston farm, where children ages 3-7 got the chance to explore the farm and make some delicious sweet and savory treats using ingredients harvested that day. The workshop’s goal was to explore fun and tasty ways to prepare vegetables for kids. Based on the squeals, smiling faces and bellies full of dressing-topped vegetables that day, I’d say mission accomplished! Nutrition 301’s Healthy Shakes, High Energy Teas Coming to Hyattsville

While all of y’all are excited to hear about Federalist Pig BBQ coming to Hyattsville (at the old Tire Place location as first reported by Route 1 Reporter), many others can’t wait for Nutrition 301 to opens its healthy shakes and energy tea doors along Queens Chapel Road in Hyattsville! (And yes, it is possible to love both bbq and healthy shakes. Everything in moderation, like momma always said.)

Lil Coffee Cabin Coming to Hyattsville

Looks like a new coffee shop will be opening up soon at Hyattsville’s University Town Center! According to a representative for the company, Lil Coffee Cabin hopes to open its Hyattsville location by the end of May. The little log cabin-themed coffee shop will be located in the same plaza as the temporary Hyattsville library location. (We’re already daydreaming about our library and coffee shop afternoons.)
