THURSDAY

(EN)lighted
Featuring works by Melissa Burley, Sean Hennessey and Scott Pennington, “(EN)lighted” is a poetic play of light, texture and color. Mixed media, mechanical and multilayered illuminated works.

Anacostia River Discovery Series Paddle Night 
Come discover your Anacostia River by joining AWS for paddle night at the Bladensburg Waterfront Park. From this site, there is a covered pavilion, picnic benches and a playground so it’s an ideal summer evening out on the water! First-come, first-served so come early for your best chance of getting out on the water! Must register here!

2018 Preservation Month: Annual Historic Preservation Reception

This annual celebration of work in historic preservation will be at the Publick Playhouse. Professor William Thomas III will present a film about Ann Williams from Bladensburg and her fight for freedom. Awards for preservation work will be made.

Dance Dance Party Party!
Dance Dance Party Party is a women-only freestyle exercise dance session! Come in your exercise clothes. Burn anywhere from 200-400 calories Dance your heart out to an eclectic mix of music for an hour straight. Make new friends, leave refreshed!

DC Labor Film Fest: Company Town

One man goes up against one of the nation’s largest paper mill and chemical plants in a bid to save his town from sickness-causing pollution.

Coffee Cupping

David C. Driskell Exhibit
One of the world’s leading authorities on African American Art, David C. Driskell curated the groundbreaking exhibition Two Centuries of Black American Art: 1750-1950 which was foundational in the field of African American art history. At least 30 of Driskell’s works will be on exhibit through June 10th.
When: 10am-3pm
Where: Frame Savvy, Hyattsville

Barre in Magruder Park!
Join this barre class led by certified barre instructor Amanda Rooney, a mom of two under two, who fell in love with barre as a way to strengthen herself after back to back pregnancies! Bring a yoga mat and RSVP if you can to arooney7514@gmail.com so that she can get a sense of numbers!

House Concert for Pyramid Atlantic featuring Lauren Calve

Join this fun fundraiser for Hyattsville’s Pyramid Atlantic Art Center. Roots rocker Lauren Calve will perform. If you haven’t seen her you are missing out – she is an amazing artist…super soulful and leaves it all on the stage. BYOB. rsvp adamortiz@gmail.com

Laborpalooza Musicfest 
This year’s first-ever Laborpalooza will showcase an exciting lineup of talented musical artists from the DC-area labor movement. Emceed by LaborFest coordinator Chris Garlock and Labor Heritage Foundation Executive Director Elise Bryant, Laborpalooza will feature four groups: the DC Labor Chorus, The ULiNERS, Moose Jaw Bluegrass and punk band Chill Parents. This swashbuckling evening of music for the movement is a can’t-miss LaborFest event! When: 8-11pm

Social Ride to Dupont Circle Farmer’s Market
Bring your pannier’s and backpacks! Millie is leading a ride to the Dupont Circle Farmer’s Market. This is a great market – in addition to the usual spring veggies and fruits, there are beer and wine, pastry, food, cheese, and pasta vendors! It’s about 26 miles round trip. Bring a lock, cash/cc, metro farecard if you want to metro home.
When: 10am-2pm
