Airmail Centennial Celebration
Celebrate with us as we mark the 100th anniversary of the first airmail delivery by the U.S. Postal Service! Get an up close and personal look at the Curtiss Jenny, and other historic planes flying in for the day. Chat with pilots and mingle with fellow aviation buffs. Entertainment and food trucks will be onsite with food and beverage for purchase.

2nd Saturday Lecture: Handcrafted Chairs: A Hybrid Approach of Traditional & Modern Techniques
Chairs are challenging projects, involving organic sculpted shapes, precise joinery, compound angles and curved wood. In the end, they need to be strong, light, comfortable and visually balanced. Chris Desautels builds furniture in his small but well-equipped workshop. As of late, he’s been focusing on chairs, using a combination of traditional and modern techniques.When: 5pm

U.S. Airmail Flight Send-Off
Savor the mysterious sense of place and join us to watch the early morning departure of the Curtiss Jenny as it takes off on a reenactment of the historic U.S.P.S. flight one hundred years ago. Enjoy a pancake breakfast with all the fixings, meet pilots who have flown in for the day and learn more about the operational challenges of an airport so close to our Nation’s capital.
