FRIDAY
Haunted House the Fear Factory
Get Ready to scream at the Latin American Youth Center’s annual Haunted House the Fear Factory!
When: 5:30 – 9:00 p.m.
Where: 6200 Sheridan Street, Riverdale.
Admission: $3 regular, $2 if in costume. 4 y/o and under are free!
SATURDAY
Touch-A-Truck Family Festival
Explore many forms of transportation in person at this family friendly fundraiser. Touch and climb on a variety of vehicles. Face painting, moonbounce and games. First 50 families to arrive will receive a free VIP package. Parking is at the front of the school just off of Rt.1.
When: 10 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Where: DeMatha High School, Hyattsville.

Beech Puppets Presents, “The Apple Tree”
An old woman living alone in the country with her animals plants an apple tree so she can have apple pie for her birthday. In the end, she is blessed with an unexpected helper. Best for children ages 2 to 8, but anybody can enjoy it.
When: 10:30 – Noon.
Where: College Park United Methodist Church, Fellowship Hall, 9601 Rhode Island Avenue.
Admission: Free! Donations welcome.
8th Annual American Indian Festival
Celebrate the rich and diverse cultures of Native Americans and catch live performances of traditional and contemporary music, dancing, drumming, singing, and storytelling. Interactive exhibits and demonstrations include: beading, finger weaving, pre-contact life skills, flint knapping, hand-made tools, artifacts, regalia, languages, genealogy, Native horsemanship, live Birds of Prey display, archery, multiple Native crafts and games!
When: 10 am – 4 p.m.

Dinosaur Park
Come to Dinosaur Park Open Houses (every 1st & 3rd Saturday) to meet paleontologists, learn about Maryland prehistory, and search an active fossil site for 115 million-year-old remains of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals!
When: Noon – 4:00 p.m.

Old Greenbelt Theatre’s Family Series Movie
Catch ZigZag the Magician incorporate many skills such as funny puppetry, juggling, silly magic, physical comedy and musical interaction. Each show is fun-filled with big laughs, thought-provoking interaction and appeals to all ages (Even grown-ups!).
When: 1:00 p.m.
Where: Old Greenbelt Theatre, 129 Centerway, Greenbelt

Greenbelt’s Fall Festival
Join us for hay rides, games, amusements, pumpkin patch, live music and art activities. Fall Fest will culminate with a with a FREE Moonlit Movie, Babe, beginning at 7:00pm.
When: 2-5 p.m.

Trunk or Treat
Decorate your car and pass out candy. Celebrate this fun event with bonfire, spooky tunnel, and exhibits of decorated Police, Public Works and Fire Department vehicles. Prizes awarded for best cars and costumes.

SUNDAY
Harvest Festival
Enjoy some fall family fun with hands-on activities in the garden and open hearth kitchen. Activities while supplies last. Festival includes tour of the historic house.

NASA Goddard’s Sunday Experiment
Kids of all ages (though most suited for 5-10) are invited to explore virtual reality, 3-D printing and magnetic activities with the Magnetospheric Multiscale Mission’s (MMS) outreach team! Kids will have the opportunity to observe the Makerbot 3-D printer as it prints key chains within minutes, watch the MMS spacecraft through the lens of Oculus Gear goggles and explore Earth’s magnetic fields using magnets and iron fillings.
