Venezuelan Caracas de Ayer (Cafe Azul) Moving to Riverdale Park

Authentic Venezuelan fare including Arepas, Cachapas, Hallacas, Tequeños, Cachitos, Empanadas, Dulce de Leche, Tres Leches – even Cuatro Leches cake can be found at Caracas de Ayer. But can you still find this popular restaurant, originally known as “Cafe Azul” along the Route 1 corridor?

Caracas de Ayer to open in Riverdale Park

Indeed you can! While the Hyattsville location unfortunately endured Covid-related closure, owner Mickey T. recently announced via Facebook, “Cafe Azul Caracas de Ayer is coming back soon!!! New location in Riverdale Park Town Center station – I am soooooo happy!” Judging by the ecstatic response, we should all be getting to head to this beloved Venezuelan cafe as soon as its opens its new location!
