Make your own field goal game, dig for dinosaur bones, check out some carnival rides and maybe some afternoon aviators all this weekend! Read on!
Field Goal Game (Rec Ages 5-12)
Kickoff football season with a portable action-packed field goal game. In this workshop, you and your child can build a game to test your aim. Simply flick or drop-pluck the ball through the goal posts to score a field goal worth three points. Once the game is built, your child can customize it with paint and stickers—play solo or with a friend and switch between field judge/scorekeeper and placekicker. (Tip: Get there early as supplies do run out.)

Dinosaur Park Open House & Fossil Deposit Interpretation
Meet paleontologists, learn about Maryland prehistory, and search an active fossil site for 115 million-year-old remains of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals! We took the kids here and they loved it! Now – it’s pretty bare bones (pun intended); no amenities – basically an open archaeological site behind some warehouses. But if your kids have adventurous minds and love discovering prehistoric things – then it’s worth a visit. Tip: While you’re in the area, why not also check out the Kids Room at the newly renovated Laurel Public Library. My post about it, here.
