Route 1 Grocery Store Update: 5/15

Friday grocery store update time! Based on feedback on yesterdays’ post, seems that most grocery stores are returning back to relative normal in terms of inventory – which is great! Some sliding on the social distancing – which is not great.

If you’re heading out today, come back here and share what you see / don’t see out there. Your Route 1 neighbors thank you!

I was in Target Express in College Park on Route 1 at about 2pm this afternoon. They were well stocked with toilet paper, particularly Charmin and Cottonelle. They had 32 ounce bottles of Germ -X hand sanitizer (for $7.39), and boxes of 20 disposable surgical masks (for $19.59). They also had 2 packs of generic paper towels. Sadly, no disinfecting wipes. The “in-demand” items were limit 1 per customer. There were only about 3 shoppers in the store, and an employee was sanitizing the self checkout machines.

The Giant on Annapolis Rd was stocked with fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, TP. There was an employee sanitizing the shopping carts too! 🙌🙂 A few packages of Paper Towels were there, as well as the Clorox multi-purpose spray. They were just putting out yeast & eggs.
The breads were stacked. This was at 10:30 this morning!
    Take care & be safe!

Aubin M shares: “I went to the Giant at Greenbelt mall yesterday. Very few people in the whole store around midday which was great!! It’s seemed pretty much stocked normally”
