Thursday morn = grocery store update time! Special request for info on yeast and flour (bakers represent!). ☺️ Seems that Shoppers in College Park is consistently doing well with inventory and social distancing. And YES as well as MOMS seems to consistently do well on the social distancing front. Share what you see & I’ll do my best to cross-post the info. And don’t forget to wear your face mask while shopping! Need a face mask? Check out any of these local Route 1 stores making and selling homemade face masks.
Safeway on E-W Hwy by the movie theater (next to PG Plaza), Thursday a.m. at 9-10am:
Some flour and other baking supplies, but will be likely be gone shortly.
Lots of fruit/veg/dairy, decent stock of meat varieties.
Still no t.p./hand sanitizer/bleach type things.
Pasta/beans sections lighter than in the before times, but still pretty ample if you’re not super picky about brand or pasta shape.
Stickers on the floor in all aisles to mark social distance. Aisles have been made one-way although not everyone’s noticed that yet (guilty for the first couple aisles). Clerks have partial plexiglass protection. Most staff wearing masks, but not all. Some staff very cheerful, if tired. Some are clearly just at the end of their patience with it all. Customers okay about lines a little iffy about social distance in the aisles. Check out was slower than in the before times because you can’t start loading your things on to the conveyor belt until the person ahead of you is completely done and moving away. Could’ve used one more clerk on duty. Self-check out appeared to be moving quickly for customers with just a couple items. The Starbucks in the store was open.
Thanks, Mary Anne! Using yr info to help others!
