Mount Rainier’s Pennyroyal Station Restaurant to Open Fall 2019

The highly anticipated Pennyroyal Station restaurant and bar is slated to open this fall in Mount Rainier’s Singer Building, according to DC Eater. (Location not ringing any bells? Close to Joe’s Movement Emporium and the now closed Bird restaurant.)

You can expect a menu full of comfort food items at this spot according to the Washingtonian, like stuffed biscuits and coffee in the mornings and, at night, a veggie “charcuterie” board and truffled potato croquettes in onion soup. At a tasting dinner for the restaurant last year, the menu included a Winter Root Salad as a starter, Smoked Rockfish as well as Duck and Heirloom Bean Cassoulet for the main and an Apple Streusel as the dessert.

The Washingtonian included Pennyroyal Station in its list of “10 DC-Area Restaurants We Can’t Wait to Try in 2019.” The folks along the Route 1 corridor also can’t wait to try this new spot!

(If you want to keep up with this restaurant’s development and progress, follow Executive Chef Jesse Miller on Instagram.)

Pennyroyal Station will open at 3310 Rhode Island Ave., Mount Rainier, MD 20712.
