Kick the weekend off with a night hike in Laurel with some nocturnal buds, Waterfront Art Festival in Bladensburg, Arts Drop-In at MilkBoy ArtHouse in College Park, Kool Kids Book Launch Party in North Brentwood, explore a new-to-you playground, Storytime in Hyattsville & the Prince George’s County Fair in Upper Marlboro. Prince George’s County Fair (Through Sunday)
Prince George’s County Fair complete with livestock, crafts, music, contests, rides, and much more! Fun for the entire family!

Fairland Regional Park Playground
Here’s a rec for a new playground to explore this weekend! This playground has equipment and structures for wee ones and the 5-12 set (check out cool climbing structure in header pic)! About a 20 minutes drive from East West & Rt. 1. Pack a picnic + blanket and take a stroll through the park afterwards. And…Bring enough wipes for port-a-potty use.

Spanish-English Ready to Read Storytime

Waterfront Art Festival
The festival will showcase the talent and work of local artists, from painting to sculptures, glass work to jewelry, photography and more! Demonstrations and workshops will delight and inspire, including a kid’s creative space. There’ll also have food trucks, live music (Wild Anacostias play at 4pm) and performances, and river boat tours! Don’t miss the fun!!

Bird Walk (Ages 6+)
Enjoy a leisurely bird walk around Cash Lake searching for and identifying multiple species of birds. Walk is weather dependent and begins at the Visitor Center. Water and binoculars recommended.

Arts Drop-in at MilkBoy ArtHouse
College Park Arts Exchange is bringing their classic Arts Drop-In series to MilkBoy ArtHouse! Topic: Mixed Media Sculpture – Make your own Objet d’art. Seating and capacity is limited. Project supplies are provided at no cost, but we encourage you to purchase brunch and support MilkBoy ArtHouse!
