Family Fun: Tree-mendous Trees!
Trees not only provide share and give birds a place to build their nests, they do so much more! Come learn about trees and tree identification through hands-on activities, games and crafts for all ages. This is a drop-in program: come when you can, leave when you’re ready.

Duende District’s Pop Up Party
Join us as we launch our Hyattville pop-up and celebrate Latin Heritage Month with a children’s puppet show from Callaloo the book, featuring Marjuan Canady followed by live music by Timbason La Original, with light refreshments!

4th Annual Migratory Bird Celebration!
Please join us for our 4th annual celebration of the wonders of migration! Activities include an exhibit with live raptors and 11:00 am raptor talk; artist-led field sketching demo/workshop; 7:30 am bird walk for all skill levels; 10:00 am family nature walk; children’s games, crafts, coloring pages, bilingual Spanish/English activities; spotting scope set up with experienced birders available to help find and identify what’s on the lake; Monarch butterfly life cycle display.

Hyattsville Arts & Ales Festival
Stay with me…There’ll be a lot of kids’ activities and performers at this festival, including activities from Art Works Now, Joe’s Movement Emporium, Maryland Milestones, Capoeira, more. Now in its 10th year, enjoy over 100 exhibiting artists and artisans, Maryland breweries, food trucks and vendors, and live entertainment, block by block in Downtown Hyattsville.

Capoeira Angola with Skher Brown & The Dancing Warriors
The whole family will be dazzled by the spins, kicks, flips and live music of this unusual art form, which has its origins in Central Africa but evolved in Brazil. Learn a few words of Brazilian Portuguese as you join the call-and-response songs and stories.

Tiny Tots: Nature and Music

Riverfest
This family event features Renaissance artisans, hay rides, great food, games for the kids and multiple stages where everything from live new music, spoken word and theater will take place. In addition to the stages the Laurel Museum will have pie eating contests and apple carving to name a few.

Parent-and-Child Aerial Dance Class
Looking for something fun and new to do with your child? Come join us for an introductory parent-and-child aerial dance class. No more than two children per adult.
