Enjoy a performance in the mansion of Brahm’s Clarinet Quintet by the US Army Strings and mingle with the musicians at a post-concert reception!
The Riversdale Chamber Music Society is a University of Maryland classical chamber music organization. The society celebrates the connection between Maryland and Riversdale House Museum, where the university’s founder, Charles Benedict Calvert, was born in 1808. Its mission is to provide a diverse chamber music experience by featuring University of Maryland School of Music students and faculty, as well as collaborations with musicians from military and local ensembles in the region.
The U.S. Army Strings, a premier ensemble of the U.S. Armed Forces, provide a musical backdrop for many of the country’s most notable events. Their mission is to serve as musical ambassadors for high-level military and government events at home and abroad, as well as in concert for public audiences.
This event is FREE. Join the musicians after the performance for a reception. Make it an afternoon at Riversdale with a tour of the historic home prior to performances.
