Best Pumpkin Patches in Maryland and Virginia

We’ve compiled a list of the best pumpkin patches in Maryland and Virginia for Route 1 Kids based on Route One Fun readers’ input! We know it’s late October, but we did forgo feeding our children just to get this to you now – so, cheers? 😉 And – many of these farms have fun events that go beyond Halloween, so enjoy!

Best Pumpkin Patches in Maryland

Pumpkin Festival 2019 @ Butler’s Orchard 
Fall family fun w/ hayrides, cider & pumpkins. All kinds of activities to keep you busy for the day. Check them out here
When: Various dates in October/early November from 10am-5pm
Where: Butler’s Orchard, Germantown
Cost: $12, age 24-months and under free! 

2019 Fall Festival @ Montpelier Farms
Corn maze, hay rides, bouncy house, hill slides, pumpkin painting, bonfire, barnyard basketball & so much more!
When: All of October-early November, see hours here
Where: Montpelier Farms, Upper Marlboro
Cost: $12, age 2 and under free!, pumpkins & some activities sold separately 

Family Fall Fun! @ Miller Farms 
Scenic wagon ride, barn tour, corn mazes, pumpkin games, giant slides & more!
When: Every weekend in October from 10am-5pm (weekdays by appt only)
Where: Miller Farms, Clinton
Cost: $10, age 24 months and under free! 

Pick Your Own Pumpkins @ Queen Anne Farm & Pumpkin Patch (All Ages)
Family fun begins with a ride around the farm on a tractor-pulled haywagon zeroing in on the pumpkin patch! Pumpkin house, farm animals, mums, fall decorations, pre-cleaned & pre-carved pumpkins available on select dates!
When: Tuesdays-Saturdays from 10am-6pm, Sundays & Mondays from 10am-5pm
Where: Queen Anne Farm, Mitchellville (or Bowie)

Autumn Fun/Pumpkins @ Shlagel Farms 
Corn maze, slides, pick your own pumpkins & more!
When: Weekends only until October 27 from 10am-5pm
Where: Shlagel Farms, Waldorf
Cost: $9

Homestead Farm: Pick Your Own Apples & Pumpkins!
Grab a wagon or hop on a hayride & pick your own! Apples & pumpkins. Hayrides, petting farm, scarecrows & photo oppts! Snack shack w/ fresh baked pie & caramel apples.
When: Every day in October from 10am-5pm (hayrides weekends only from 10am-4pm)
Where: Homestead Farm, Poolesville
Cost: $2, apples, pumpkins, food extra 

Autumn Activities @ Larriland Farm
Pumpkin patch, hayride, straw maze, boo barn & pick your own apples plus apple cider! Apple fritters & food trucks on weekends.

Virginia is huge. These are the top two recommendations for pumpkin patches and festivals in Virginia from Route One Fun readers.

Cox Farms Fall Festival 
Giant slides, world famous hayrides, farm animals, corn maze, kiddie zone, fresh apple cider, play areas, straw tunnels, goat village, pumpkin patch & more!
When: Every day in October/into early November from 10am-6pm
Where: Cox Farms, Centreville, Virginia
Cost: $7-$20, age 24 months & under free!

Ticonderoga’s Fall Pumpkin Festival  
Hayrides, huge jumping pillow, fire pits for s’mores, hanging bamboo xylophone, petting farm, log cabin, cow train, tire play, teepees, pumpkins & more!
When: October to November 3, Weekdays from 10am-5pm, Weekends/Columbus Day from 10am-6pm
Where: Ticonderoga Farm, Chantilly, Virginia
Cost: Weekdays $10.95 (ages 2+), Weekends/Columbus Day $17.95 (ages 2+)
