Adults’ Weekend Guide! August 3rd-6th

Catch some indie rock this weekend at Riverdale Park’s Robert Harper Books!

Will it be a Freestyle Dance Party, Community Forklift’s First Friday fun? Some TGIF Yoga? Three Indie Rock bands at Robert Harper Books?  Live Jazz at Med Cafe?  Thrillbillys at the New Deal Cafe? Or maybe networking at PGAAMCC’s Forty Under 40?  If you’re like me, it’s all of the above! 😉

THURSDAY 

Riverdale Park Farmers Market
One of my fave farmers markets! Get your fresh and local produce right here! Live music, too! We love strolling around the Riverdale Park Farmers Market, buying some fresh, local produce, grabbing a bite from one of the vendors, absorbing some tunes while the kids frolic around the grounds.
When: 3-7pm
Where: 4650 Queensbury Rd, Riverdale Park
Cost: No entry fee.

Dance Dance Party Party!
Dance Dance Party Party is a women-only freestyle exercise dance session! Come in your exercise clothes. Burn anywhere from 200-400 calories Dance your heart out to an eclectic mix of music for an hour straight. Make new friends, leave refreshed!
When: 7-8pm

Live Music Thursdays: Jason Walker Duo 
Eat some good Mediterranean food, support a local Mt. Rainier restaurant and get down with the jazzy vibes of Jason Walker Duo at Live Music Thursdays! Always a fun time and can attest that their falafels, with some special sauce, will make you return for more!
When: 7:30-9:30pm

FRIDAY 

Yoga in the Parks
Join us for FREE yoga classes in the beautiful outdoors! Learn basic moves to strengthen your body, increase flexibility and free your mind. Classes run Memorial Day through Labor Day and are for ages 13+. No registration is required. Namaste!

Forty Under 40 
Enjoy drinks, music, networking and a performance by featured artist: Patrick Washington aka Black Picasso. Complimentary drink with entry.
When: 6-9pm
Where: Prince George’s African American Museum & Cultural Center, North Brentwood
Cost: $5 suggested donation (suggested – no one turned away)

Forklift First Friday
We love checking out this monthly event by Community Forklift! Always live music, tasty beer (pop up a la Town Center Market), good food truck eat (El Pollo Submarine), local art, kids activities (Strolling Magician Matt Neufeld) and your chance to explore the potential of CF’s goods for sale! TGIF Yoga
Wind down your long work week and prepare for an enjoyable weekend with this TGIF yoga class!
