Letitia VanSant’s lyrics are at once intensely personal and politically relevant. Hailed as one of Baltimore’s strongest folk songwriters, her intimate voice is fortified by sparse Americana arrangements. Ben Shannon’s songs spring from an acute awareness of the Appalachian region and a first hand experience of the multi-generational effects of a resource extraction economy.
