Jazz up you weekend plans with really anything from this great list of events below! Live music at Riverdale Park’s Town Center Market, Sip & Sew some reusable snack/sandwich bags in Hyattsville, NJ Indiepop in College Park, Gardening Fun in Cottage City, Drag Brunch in DC, Music Festival in Bowie & more! Enjoy!

FRIDAY

Truckeroo (All Ages)
Enjoy some nibbles at this food truck gathering. There’ll be live music and tasty adult beverages for the over 21 crowd. Set in a perfect place near the Navy Yard. Weather goddesses, please cooperate!
When: 4-11pm
Where: The Bullpen, Washington, DC

Jazz in the Garden
Waa! This is the final jazz in the garden event for this summer season. So you clearly DO NOT want to miss it! The Funky Dawgz Brass Band will be playing. Perfect place to lounge on your throw with some gnoshes and your best buds.
When: 5-8:30pm
Where: National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC
Cost: Free!

Mercy Creek @ Town Center Market Concert Series
This store’s got a lot going for it already. Add live music and we’re on fire! An evening of aggressive folk rock earthy edgy music. Intrigued, we’re sure. Try one of their brews on tap or if you’re more of a wine connoisseur, they’ve got wine too!
When: 7-10pm
Where: Town Center Market, Riverdale Park
Cost: Free!, snacks and beverages for sale

Sip & Sew – Reusable Snack/Sandwich Bags
If you’re interested in replacing plastic sandwich bags and reducing waste, these reusable bags are for you! Beginner friendly and fun to make, you’ll be able to make several during class.
When: 7pm
Where: Three Little Birds Sewing Co., Hyattsville
Cost: $45

Malibu
Experience NJ indiepop from up and coming group Malibu, with special guests Shoobies, MakeUp Girl, and LOWLIGHT.
When: 8-9pm

SATURDAY

Adapting Your Garden to Climate Change 
Learn how gardeners can be an important part of the solution to climate change by using climate-friendly practices in gardens and landscapes. Held in partnership with the University of Maryland’s Master Gardener program.
When: 10-11am
Where: Cottage City Community Garden, Cottage City
Cost: Free!

10th Annual Chesapeake Crab, Wine & Beer Festival (All Ages)
An all-you-care-to-taste extravaganza. Loosen up your belts and indulge in some crabs, beer and family fun like arts & crafts and live music. Find out what brings fans back year to year!
When: 11-5pm
Where: National Harbor, Fort Washington
Cost: $39 & up

Silver Spring Jazz Festival
Two stages of entertainment, double the fun at this end-of-summer celebration. Grammy and Emmy award winner will headline. Come listen to some cool jazz!
When: 3-10pm
Where: Veterans Plaza, Silver Spring
Cost: Free!

Janine and Arch @ Maryland Meadworks 
Hang out with the folks at Meadworks and listen to an acoustic duo. Bring your own food or maybe order food to go from Pizza Paradiso. It’s only a block away!
When: 7-10pm
Where: Maryland Meadworks, Hyattsville
Cost: Free!, purchase mead, bring your own food if you want

SUNDAY

Sunday Fairland Biking Meetup
Your mission: own 9 miles of intermediate terrain. Instructions: meet in the back corner of the parking lot behind the ice house at the trailhead. Have your (preferably) mountain bike ready. And a helmet too. Safety first!
When: 9-10:30am
Where: The Gardens Ice House, West Laurel
Cost: Free!

Nellie’s Drag Brunch (Ages 21+)
Eat all you want from the brunch buffet and be entertained by some of the areas best drag queen performers. They’ll throw in your first mimosa or ‘zing zang’ bloody mary for free!
When: 11am
Where: Nellie’s Sports Bar, Washington, DC

Fairwood Music Festival (All Ages)
Bear witness to a fantastic lineup of bands, as well as food from vendors and fun activities for the kids. It’s a festival the whole family can enjoy!
When: 1-6pm
Where: Fairwood Community Park, Bowie

DragonSong @ New Deal
Join us for an amazing evening where musicians meet dancers. Free Show, free parking, great food & spirits galore!
When: 6-9pm
Where: New Deal Cafe, Greenbelt
