Make merry with the spirited sounds of the Ship’s Company Chanteymen as Riversdale’s basement is transformed into a 19th century tavern. Gather with old friends and meet new ones as you enjoy period appropriate beverages and a tavern-style menu in a lively atmosphere.
Taverns were a mainstay of 19th century American society, acting not only as watering holes but also inns, post offices, and general stores. In 1802, George Calvert sold a parcel of land for the construction of Rossborough Inn, later repurchasing this popular Baltimore–Washington, D.C. travel stop and serving as its owner in the 1820s and 30s.
