Route 1 Grocery Store Update: May Day Edition

Route 1 Grocery Store Update

Grocery Store Update time! Please share what you see, don’t see out there. Special request for info on hand sanitizer from a lovely reader who volunteers at a local food bank.

Today is Friday, May 1st – which is also May Day or International Workers’ Day, a holiday commonly celebrated internationally as a day to commemorate the struggle to secure the 8-hour work day and other worker protections. As shared on multiple news outlets, many frontline workers at Whole Foods, Target and Amazon nationwide may be calling out or walking out of work as they demand safer working conditions, including hazard pay, sick leave, protective gear and cleaning supplies.

Grocery Store Update Route 1

🕰 Grocery Store Update Time! Today’s tip: Don’t sleep on Price Rite in Chillum! Many Hyattsville, Brentwood & Mount Rainier friends share that this store is stocked with TP (as of yesterday) and is not crowded. Likewise, folks have had luck finding paper towels and flour at YES! Organic in Hyattsville and TP at MOMS in College Park. 🙌 Keep sharing yr tips, buds. They’re mighty helpful and help reduce our collective time amongst the socially distanced masses. 👍🏻
