Route 1 Pharmacies with FREE Prescription Delivery During COViD-19

Prescription Delivery Near Route 1 Corridor

Many pharmacies are offering free prescription medication delivery as a way of helping folks, especially those with compromised immune systems, to stay at home during these coronavirus times. Here’s a list of Route 1 pharmacies offering free delivery of prescription medications. (Some also deliver essential household items such as cleaning and medical supplies available or make them available for purchase at their pharmacy drive-through.)

Route 1 Grocery Store Update: 4/2

Grocery Store Update

If it’s today, it’s Grocery Store Update Time! 😆 Drop a comment letting us know what you see/don’t see during yr grocery store visit. We’ll cross-post to website and our social pages so that all may witness yr nuggets of wisdom (and this avoid unnecessary / unfruitful exposure to COViD-19. 🙌 Question: If there’s anything else we could be doing / asking re grocery shopping, please let us know. Happy to help! 🤗 (virtual hug, of course.)

Also, Route One Fun reader Loretta V. let us know that Franklin’s General Store has a sale on wine — 20% off a case, 10% off 6 bottles. (This was on Monday so call Franklin’s to confirm status.) Mike Franklin said to think of his store as a mini-Walmart — toys, beer, wine, chocolate, candy, greeting cards, stuffed animals, jewelry, etc. etc. And Loretta shared that “there were like 2 people shopping — everyone kept at least 6 ft apart, and a store staffer carried my case into my car.” Way to go, Franklins!

Route 1 Grocery Store Update: 4/1

Route 1 Grocery Store Update

Grocery Store Update time, folks! More requests for toilet paper, eggs, dairy, sanitizing wipes and gels. (On that note, YES! Organic Market in Hyattsville got a big delivery yesterday so perhaps check with them re TP?) Seems like produce inventory is stabilizing, which is great! If searching for any other items, please let us know and enter your query in the comments.

Also, please know that if you’re high risk and need help getting groceries or essentials, this flyer provides info on how local Rotary Clubs can help!

Route 1 Grocery Store Update: 3/31

Route 1 Grocery Store Update

It’s Tuesday! (Just in case needed a reminder, like me.) Let us all know what you’re seeing at our local grocery stores, please! Special requests for info on produce, flour, yeast and paper products. Also, we’ve heard now from multiples folks that there’s little social distancing support or enforcement happening at Lidl, Aldi and Giant. 😞

Also, if you’re a senior or immunocompromised (this includes pregnant women), please know that a growing number of local stores offer special shopping hours. Please see our guide to Grocery Stores with Special Shopping Hours for Seniors & Vulnerable Shoppers. Stay safe, friends. 🙏🏻

Route 1 Grocery Store Update: 3/30

Grocery Store Update Route 1

If it’s today, it’s grocery store update time! 😁 Couple of quick requests: Many folks are inquiring about toilet paper, bakers yeast and how things look at Trader Joe’s (Silver Spring or DC). If you’ve any insights, please share. Also, please include in yr comment whether folks are practicing good social distancing (& if the store is supporting this practice, too, with line markers, limiting entry, etc.). Thank you, all!
