Route 1 Grocery Store Update: 4/2

If it’s today, it’s Grocery Store Update Time! 😆 Drop a comment letting us know what you see/don’t see during yr grocery store visit. We’ll cross-post to website and our social pages so that all may witness yr nuggets of wisdom (and this avoid unnecessary / unfruitful exposure to COViD-19. 🙌

Grocery Store Update

Question: If there’s anything else we could be doing / asking re grocery shopping, please let us know. Happy to help! 🤗 (virtual hug, of course.)

Also, Loretta V. let us know that Franklin’s General Store has a sale on wine — 20% off a case, 10% off 6 bottles. (This was on Monday so call Franklin’s to confirm status.) Mike Franklin said to think of his store as a mini-Walmart — toys, beer, wine, chocolate, candy, greeting cards, stuffed animals, jewelry, etc. etc. And Loretta shared that “there were like 2 people shopping — everyone kept at least 6 ft apart, and a store staffer carried my case into my car.” Way to go, Franklins!

Just back from Aldi and Glut. Aldi is well stocked, has TP, paper towels, bleach, all veggies. Glut also well stocked. And they have put up a clear plastic barrier on the counter, nicely designed so you slide you items under it and see the clerk fine but no worries about spreading germs when closer than 6 feet.

Thanks for the helpful update, Bill! Which store has put up a clear plastic barrier on the counter? Glut?

Cdavismurph shares: “Giant on East-West. Yes TP and paper towels (unloading a new shipment) pretty thin on produce. No sanitizing wipes for carts. Other categories pretty thin, but most basics available.”

Lilgreenbee shares: “Went to Safeway very early. No paper or cleaning products. Meat seemed decently stocked (no bone-in chicken) as did milk/eggs. Limited rice and pasta.”
