Build a Bunny Basket
Kids can build their own bunny basket, perfect for keeping Easter treats a short hop away. Once the basket is built, your child can decorate it with paint and stickers.

Hey! Let’s Go Fishing
Fishing is a great way to get kids outdoors, learn about nature and just have fun! This program, at an eight-acre, catch and release bass pond, is a great way for beginners to learn the basics of fishing. Equipment is provided.

Greenbelt Elementary School Spring Fair & Yard Sale!
The School’s PTA presents their annual Spring Fair, including bucket truck rides, fire truck and ambulance, K-9 demo and police vehicle, arts & crafts, carnival games, live music and a Greenbelt’s Got Talent show! Check it out and support a great local school!

Local Authors’ Book Signing Event
Always interested in supporting the local community, we are thrilled to be selling books by local authors, featuring children’s books from pre-readers through high school! Stream Clean-Up & UPCA Sustainability Fair
Show your kiddo(s) you’re more than just an armchair politician and together join in this effort to clean up University Park Town Stream. This cleanup is coodinated with the area-wide Alice Ferguson Foundation’s 29th Annual Potomac River Watershed Cleanup. Coffee, juice, doughnuts aplenty! We did it last time and kiddos definitely enjoyed stomping through the creek in rain boots, inspecting curious rocks, etc.

Smaland at College Park’s Ikea

Free, 1 hour, supervised, enclosed, safe & clean play area near the entrance. Enjoy some shopping or just relax/eat/peoplewatch at the restaurant upstairs while your young one(s) has a blast at Smaland. Children must be potty trained and be 37” to 54” tall (so children typically b/w ages of 3-6). Tips: (1) Best to arrive earlier on in the day as day progresses, so do the entrances lines; & (2) Join Ikea Family & kids get extra 30 minutes to play (depending on capacity) & you get free coffee!

Model Rocket Launches
Like to build model rockets, but don’t have a launch pad? Now you do! Anyone can bring a model to fly at the Goddard Visitor Center rocket launches; there are no costs or fees to participate. Rockets, motors and supplies are available for purchase at the nearby Goddard Gift Shop (and many hobby shops or toy stores) and you can even get rocket construction and launch tips from our on-site experts on launch day!
