The Holiday fun continues this weekend with a Gingerbread House Hullabaloo, Holiday Ornament Workshop, Riverdale Park’s Holiday Market w/ Santa, The Nutcracker, Breakfasts with Santa & more! Check it out!
**Riverdale Park’s Town Clerk reports that they’re “in need of toys for the Toys for Tots program this year. This program directly benefits families in our Town. If you would like to contribute, please deliver new and unwrapped toys to Town Hall or the Police Department by Friday, December 15.”

Storytime PopUp! @ The Waterhole

Smaland at College Park’s Ikea
Kids play in indoor playground while yo enjoy some shopping or just relax/eat/peoplewatch at the restaurant upstairs. Kiddos must be potty trained and be 37” to 54” tall (so children typically b/w ages of 3-6). Tips: (1) Best to arrive earlier on in the day as day progresses, so do the entrances lines; & (2) Join Ikea Family & kids get extra 30 minutes to play (depending on capacity) & you get free mildly-decent coffee!

Breakfast with Santa at Beltsville Community Center
Join us for arts and craft activities, refreshments and a chance to take a photo with Santa! Crafts will include ornaments, stocking decoration, and more. Refreshments available while they last. Call the center to register for this event no later than December 13.

Gingerbread House Holiday Hullabaloo
Drop-in anytime between Noon and 3pm for the annual Gingerbread House Holiday Hullabaloo. You may even see Santa Claus! Art Works Now will also be accepting toy donations (unwrapped please) for families at Thomas Stone Elementary. (We went to this last year and it was so much fun! Tip: If time is running out or your child is too wiggly to do the house in one sitting, ask them if you can take it to-go and finish it at home! We did just that last year and they were v. accommodating.)

Holiday Ornament Workshop
This family-friendly workshop provides the opportunity to create paper ornaments for the Holiday season. Materials provided. If you have special paper you would like to use, feel free to bring it the day of the event. No registration required. We look forward to sharing the Holidays with you.

Ballet enthusiasts of all ages will thrill to these professional ballerinas, as they perform these famous dances from the Nutcracker in the intimate space of the Old Parish House. A lovely holiday event for the whole family!

The Greenbelt Dance Studio, a program of the Greenbelt Department of Recreation, presents an original production inspired by holiday favorite, The Nutcracker. Set in Greenbelt past and present, The New Deal Nut: A Greenbelt Nutcracker features a range of dance styles including ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary, performed by a talented cast of dancers from elementary through high school.

Mishkan Torah’s Chanukah celebration will be extra special this year. Besides commemorating the holiday with all of its fun and joy, we will be celebrating the installation of Saul Oresky as our spiritual leader and welcoming his wife Phyllis Oresky as our rebbetzin. The event will include delicious latkes (potato pancakes) and other foods, entertaining performances from the “Not-Ready-For-Purim” Players and from our Karp Family School students, tributes from esteemed visitors–all wrapped up with fun, laughter, and a community singalong.
