**Riverdale Park’s Town Clerk reports that they’re “in need of toys for the Toys for Tots program this year. This program directly benefits families in our Town. If you would like to contribute, please deliver new and unwrapped toys to Town Hall or the Police Department by Friday, December 15.”

Gingerbread House Holiday Hullabaloo
Drop-in anytime between Noon and 3pm for the annual Gingerbread House Holiday Hullabaloo. You may even see Santa Claus! Art Works Now will also be accepting toy donations (unwrapped please) for families at Thomas Stone Elementary. (We went to this last year and it was so much fun! Tip: If time is running out or your child is too wiggly to do the house in one sitting, ask them if you can take it to-go and finish it at home! We did just that last year and they were v. accommodating.)

The Greenbelt Dance Studio, a program of the Greenbelt Department of Recreation, presents an original production inspired by holiday favorite, The Nutcracker. Set in Greenbelt past and present, The New Deal Nut: A Greenbelt Nutcracker features a range of dance styles including ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary, performed by a talented cast of dancers from elementary through high school.

Mishkan Torah’s Chanukah celebration will be extra special this year. Besides commemorating the holiday with all of its fun and joy, we will be celebrating the installation of Saul Oresky as our spiritual leader and welcoming his wife Phyllis Oresky as our rebbetzin. The event will include delicious latkes (potato pancakes) and other foods, entertaining performances from the “Not-Ready-For-Purim” Players and from our Karp Family School students, tributes from esteemed visitors–all wrapped up with fun, laughter, and a community singalong.
