Where to Watch fireworks along the Route 1 Corridor in Maryland

Plenty of ways to celebrate Independence Day along Maryland’s Route 1 Corridor! Bowie kicks off its celebration on July 2nd, College Park & Greenbelt do their thing on July 4th and Bladneburg & Laurel wrap it all up with celebrations not to be missed! Fireworks, live music, food, moon bounce, vintage car show and more all happening along the Route 1 corridor! Know of a celebration not listed below? Add it to the comments and we’ll update ASAP!

Tuesday, July 2nd

Bowie Fourth of July Fireworks
The City of Bowie will host a free concert (the legendary “Fabulous Hubcaps”) and fireworks.
When: July 2nd, 7:30pm (Concert at 7:30pm; fireworks expected 9pm)
Where: Prince George’s Stadium (parking lot opens at 5pm)
Cost: Free!

Thursday, July 4th

College Park Independence Day Celebration
Free concert and fireworks spectacular will be at UMD’s Parking lot 1 adjacent to Campus Drive. NightLife will entertain from 7-9pm followed by a 30-minute Fireworks Extravaganza at dusk.
When: Festivities begin at 7pm; concessions open at 5pm
Where: UMD, Lot 1
Cost: Free!

Greenbelt July 4th Fanfare
Celebrate Independence Day with friends and neighbors. Bring a picnic, walk the lake trail, enjoy the playground; Community Drum Circle: 5:30-6:45pm’ Greenbelt Concert Band: 7:30-8:30pm; Fireworks approximately at 9pm
When: July 4th, 5:30-10:30pm
Where: Buddy Attick Lake Park, Greenbelt
Cost: Free!

Saturday, July 6th

Bladensburg Fireworks Celebration
Fireworks spectacular event held to celebrate Independence Day. Festivities will include food trucks and DJ Flava from 93.9 WKYS, who will be spinning the hottest beats, while enjoying a beautiful evening on the Waterfront!
When: 6-9pm
Where: Bladensburg Waterfront Park, Bladensburg
Cost: Free!

Laurel 4th of July Celebration
This is an all-day affair that includes a parade, a vintage car show, field games, activities, hot-dog eating contest, fireworks and more! (Even got coverage in this recent Washington Post article.)
When: Full day begins at 9am (fireworks approx at 9pm)
Where: Varies. See website.
Cost: Free!
