Hyattsville Zombie Run 2020
Register here for the fifth annual Hyattsville Zombie Run, organized by the Hyattsville Elementary School PTA. The run will be held October 17-30, 2020, with major adaptations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Run Any Time Over 2 Weeks
As opposed to a one-day event, the dates of the Zombie Run this year will be extended to cover a two-week period, with participants encouraged to run their respective races at a time of their choosing over the course of the two weeks and submit their times to race organizers virtually. As in past years, runners are encouraged to wear costumes while racing and are welcome to send in photos of themselves to take part in the run’s costume contest and to be used as part of the virtual celebration at the end of the two weeks.
Important School Fundraiser
This much anticipated event, which drew 690 runners in 2019, is an important source of revenue for local schools. In 2019, the race raised over $30,000 for local schools. Proceeds collected from the 2020 race will benefit Hyattsville Elementary School and other local schools, and will help with the purchase of technology, art and classroom supplies, teachers appreciation efforts, and more.

Supporting Route 1 Businesses
The Zombie Run seeks to bring the community together not only to support local schools, but also to highlight the local businesses that have become an integral part of the race. Recognizing the financial toll the pandemic has taken on some local businesses, Zombie Run organizers are working with 2019 sponsors to explore other potential ways to collaborate to support both local businesses and community schools.
