FINALLY! 📽 Hyattsville’s Regal Cinema‘s is finally participating in Summer Movie Express, a program where they show family-friendly movies on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings for $1 a ticket. 😊 I say “finally” with some exasperation because while Regal’s been doing this program now in many different cities in Maryland, Hyattsville seemed to never be on the list. Until NOW! Whoop, whoop – and thank you, Regal! 👏
According to the site: “Admission to the Summer Movie Express is only $1. Tickets available for purchase at the box office and all movies in most locations start at 10:00 am. Check with your theatre for exact showtimes. Each week both movies play on both days. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Will Rogers Institute.”
A couple of upcoming movies include LEGO Ninjago, Ferdinand, Secret Life of Pets, Paddington, Boss Baby, Captain Underpants, etc. Looks like they show two movies on the same day. I guess you stay as little or as long as your child’s attention span/interest permits.
Between these offerings on Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as the Old Greenbelt Theatre’s Summer Family Series (offering free kids’ movies on Thursdays at 1pm through the summer), this summer is a great chance for kiddos to experience watching a movie at a theatre – which is a treat as movies can be quite expensive for families to watch together on the big screen!
Here’s a list of other nearby Regal Cinemas participating in Summer Movie Express (head to Summer Movie Express for a full listing of locations):
- Regal Bowie Stadium 14, Bowie, Maryland
- Regal Germantown Stadium 14, Germantown, Maryland
