Join the University Park community starting April 24th through May 9th as we run (or walk!) the Azalea Classic – virtually! Let’s show how strong we are together, even when we are apart!
How do I run a virtual Azalea Classic?
Indeed; though it’s really not that cerebral. UPES PTA Azalea Classic Director Extra, Abby McDermott, shares how a virtual 5K works:
- “Register for the Azalea Classic ONLINE here and run any race of your choice on ANY route of your choice – choose between the 5K, our 1 Mile Challenge, or our 1K Family Fun Run.
- Next: Run/walk any time between Friday April 24 – Sunday May 9, 2021 and submit your times (and a photo!) via the link on our Azalea Classic Runner Info page here.
Put another way, your run at your place (wherever that may be) at your pace (15-minute mile here…) for this virtual 5K. We realize this is not the same as an in-person race, but it’s the safest way right now so let’s lace up, do our 5K/1K/1-mile thang and help raise much needed funds for our beloved community public school!
*All registrants get an official race t-shirt with a design contributed by 2020 University Park Elementary School graduate Me’Lana Bell!
Azalea Classic Sponsors!
Huge thanks to all the local Azalea Classic sponsors for supporting this community tradition. The University Park Elementary School PTA organizes this annual event; all proceeds benefit programs at our beloved neighborhood school.
So what are you waiting for? Register today for this great community event!
