Riverdale Park Farmers Market
One of my fave farmers markets! Today’s line up includes strawberries, asparagus, potatoes, spinach, kale, raw milk cheeses, free range hen eggs, delish olive oils, breads & more! Also, today’s musician is the fantastic Charles Soloman on the harmonica! (We love strolling around the Riverdale Park Farmers Market, buying some fresh, local produce, grabbing a bite from one of the vendors, absorbing some tunes while the kids frolic around and then we all head to Town Center Market to enjoy a tasty beer outside.

Paddle Night on the Anacostia River

After tonight’s performance, Artistic Ally Katie Keddell will lead a discussion with special guests Chanel Compton, Executive Director of Prince George’s African American Museum and Cultural Center and Jessie MacLeod, Associate Curator of the Lives Bound Together: Slavery at Mount Vernon exhibit. The 38th Historic Hyattsville House Tour
The Hyattsville Preservation Association presents this year’s self-guided tour, featuring 9 homes of various styles and periods. Tour-goers will receive an informative booklet with a map showing the sites. Houses are within walking distance. There’ll also be a bus that continuously circles the tour route.

We the People (Movie) Series: Ida
As part of a series celebrating diversity in Maryland (sponsored by Maryland Humanities), Old Greenbelt Theatre presents Ida, a movie set in Poland, 1962 where two women start a journey not only to find their family’s tragic story, but to see who they really are and where they belong. Special guest speaker Leslie Swift, who has worked at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum for almost 20 years.
