Lulu’s Fate Unplugged
Lulu’s Fate is a trio based in the Washington, DC area, performing a variety of traditional American music as well as original and “new traditional” songs and tunes. They also mix in a variety of country blues, Dixieland, sea chanteys, southern string band tunes, and covers ranging from Hank Williams to Tom Waits.

Contra dance is fun, fun, fun! It is danced to live music which can have an array of instruments depending on the band. Stream Clean-Up & UPCA Sustainability Fair
Show your kiddo(s) you’re more than just an armchair politician and together join in this effort to clean up University Park Town Stream. This cleanup is coordinated with the area-wide Alice Ferguson Foundation’s 29th Annual Potomac River Watershed Cleanup. Coffee, juice, doughnuts aplenty! We did it last time and kiddos definitely enjoyed stomping through the creek in rain boots, inspecting curious rock, etc.

Reverse Tashlich – Stream Cleaning Event
Usually performed on Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year), “Tashlich” refers to the Jewish custom of throwing crumbs into a body of water to symbolically rid oneself of bad habits. A modern spinoff of the traditional custom, a “reverse tashlich” offers us the opportunity to reverse the effects of some of our bad habits by cleaning up a local stream. This year we will be removing trash around Still Creek near the Greenbelt Dog Park.
