Annual Black History Month Exhibition: Moving Out, Moving In, Moving Up
Migration has been a defining characteristic of the Black experience in the United States since the arrival of the first enslaved Africans to the American colonies in the early 1600s. This exhibit explores the factors spurring black migration and immigration as well as the resulting changes in society on the national, regional, and local levels.

Sunday Scholar Brunch: Justice, Memory, Sacred Grounds
Join us for an afternoon of breaking bread with fellow knowledge seekers, justice fighters, social champions and conscious raisers. Brunch followed by a keynote speaker with a Q + A segment. Valerie Wade will explain the history of Sugar Land and connect it to broader conversations about the penal system, the disposability of Black bodies, and what we can do today to preserve Black cemeteries and other burial sites.
