Patuxent Research Refuge
Even when there’s not a specific program to check out, this place is still a good morning/afternoon’s spent exploring the exhibits, taking your pick of any of the activities on the “Family Adventure Cart” including an Adventure Backpack, Scavenger Hunt, Bug Kits, Field Guides, etc. My review of Patuxent Research Refuge here!

STEM-Fun at Diven’s Den
Check out this new-to-you STEM-inspired playroom, teaching the kiddos about life in 1800s Laurel. Curious? Read my review of Diven’s Den!

Gymnastics Workshop / Open Gym at PG Sports & Learning Complex
This place is really great for 1-12 year olds! HUGE. Two climbing walls. Two foam pits. Tons of equipment for curious ones to explore and blow off some steam. Very clean. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parents are required to be on the floor with the children (Maximum 3 child:1 adult). Check out my review here!

College Park Dream Team
Come to this fun event Friday evening to see community youth JUMP over local police officers in a friendly game of basketball!

Trash to Treasure Green Craft Fair
Explore local crafters and artists who create treasures made from at least 50% recycled, organic, fair trade or sustainably-harvested materials. There will be food vendors, face-painting, a kids craft table and more!

SantaFest 2018
Kick off the holiday season this Saturday at SantaFest! There’ll be arts activities led by Art Works Now, you’ll experience the High Energy Magic of “Speed” as he strolls around performing fun and mystifying tricks, play Santa’s Cookies Bean Bag Toss to win prizes, Holiday Music & more! Dance for Young Movers (2-4 years old)
Your young mover is learning, growing, and expressing themselves more and more each day. Bring them out to further explore their creative imaginations and ideas through dance! Movements and sequences are designed specifically for young movers to expand and discover new ways their body can move as it is connected to skills, ideas, feelings and objects. (Instructor Kendra Marie is super friendly and has a gentle way with the kiddos!)

STEAM Maker Space
Join us for an afternoon of art, creativity and fun at our annual STEAM Maker Space. Build, experiment and create at engaging stations that include Light Painting Lab, Go!., Build-It Discs, 3D pens, K’NEX Amusement Park, Tasty Creations and so much more!
When: 1-3pm

Mary Amato Book Release Party 
Celebrate local Hyattsville author Mary Amato’s two newest books: “Open Mic Night at Westminster Cemetery” and “News from Me, Lucky McGee” fiction for adults/teens and ages 7-10. Light refreshments.

Playground at University Hills Duck Pond Park (All Ages)
Pack a picnic, check out the duck pond and then have fun at 1 of the 3 playgrounds at this park! There’s one right at the entrance off of Wells Blvd but if you wander a bit on the bike path you’ll find there’s an even bigger one just down to the right with structures for the toddler and 5-12 crew.

St. Martin’s Day Lantern Festival
St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church local volunteer Brigit Meade will lead a traditional German celebration which involves making beautiful paper lanterns and culminates in an outdoor walk at twilight.
When: 3:30pm
Where: College Park Arts Exchange, 4711 Knox Road, College Park
Cost: Free!
