FRIDAY 

Family Fun: Feathered Friends! 
Everybody loves birds! Come learn more about our feathered friends and what makes them special through hands-on activities, games and crafts for all ages!
When: 10am-1pm (Meet a live owl at 10:30am/11:30am/12:15pm)
Where: Patuxent Research Refuge National Wildlife Visitors Center, Laurel
Cost: Free!

Storytime PopUp! The Waterhole
Join us for stories, songs, fingerplays and more at this innovation collaboration between PGCMLS & Mt. Rainier's fabulous organic juice & smoothie joint, The Waterhole. Best for 0-5 years old. Curious? Click here for my review of The Waterhole!

Cost: Free (Heads-up: Waterhole's menu is delish, highly recommend indulging!)

STEM-tastic: Breaker Space (Ages 8-12)
Become a mad scientist by conducting hands-on, fun science experiments using basic scientific principles. Join us as we take apart and rebuild computer parts to learn about how they work.
When: 2-4pm
Where: Bowie Library. Bowie
Cost: Free!

SATURDAY

Airmail Centennial Celebration
Celebrate with us as we mark the 100th anniversary of the first airmail delivery by the U.S. Postal Service! Participate in engaging hands-on activities for all ages led by numerous museums, community, and aviation partners. Get an up close and personal look at the Curtiss Jenny, and other historic planes flying in for the day. Entertainment and food trucks will be onsite with food and beverage for purchase.
When: 10am-4pm
Where: College Park Aviation Museum, 1985 Corporal Frank Scott Drive, College Park
Cost: Free!

Toddler Time @ Art Works Now
Open studio time for toddlers and their accompanying adults. Even the youngest children can explore a variety of age-appropriate art materials in a safe, fun environment. What to expect? Read my review of Toddler Time at Art Works Now.

Learn about different musical cultures in this special themed storytime focusing on French language materials.
When: 10:30-11am 
Where: Greenbelt Library, Greenbelt

Battle of Bladensburg Encampment
The encampment returns with a bang this year as War of 1812 troops ready the cannon and prepare for battle. Step back into 1814 with an afternoon of hands-on demos, children’s activities, tours, and more! Snacks available for purchase.
When: 12-4pm
Where: Riversdale House Museum, 4811 Riverdale Rd, Riverdale Park
Cost: Free! (free admission to grounds, $3 fee for house tour)

SUNDAY 

U.S. Airmail Flight Send-Off 
Savor the mysterious sense of place and join us to watch the early morning departure of the Curtiss Jenny as it takes off on a reenactment of the historic U.S.P.S. flight one hundred years ago. Enjoy a pancake breakfast with all the fixings, meet pilots who have flown in for the day and learn more about the operational challenges of an airport so close to our Nation’s capital.
When: 7-10am
Where: College Park Aviation Museum, 1985 Corporal Frank Scott Dr., College Park
Cost: $10/person

Weekly role-playing game
Come join us for a role-playing game (usually Dungeons and Dragons (open to beginners and experts)!
When: 2-6pm
Where: Big Planet Comics of College Park, College Park
Cost: Free!
