STEM-Fun at Diven’s Den
Check out this new-to-you STEM-inspired playroom, teaching the kiddos about life in 1800s Laurel. Curious? Read my review of Diven’s Den! Afterwards, take a walk along the adjacent River Walk!

Storytime PopUp! @ The Waterhole
Join us for stories, songs, fingerplays and more at this innovation collaboration between PGCMLS & Mt. Rainier’s fabulous organic juice & smoothie joint, The Waterhole. Best for 0-5 years old. Curious? Click here for my review of The Waterhole!

Kids love to splash around this fountain right across from Whole Foods. Seating surrounds the area so it’s possible you can catch a quick break/sit down while your kiddo plays in the water. Pack or lunch or buy from any one of the many nearby spots.

Gymnastics Workshop
This place is really great for 1-12 year olds! HUGE. Two climbing walls. Two foam pits. Tons of equipment for curious ones to explore and blow off some steam. Very clean. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parents are required to be on the floor with the children (Maximum 3 child:1 adult). Check out my review here!

Children’s Beginner Tree Walk 
Come enjoy a walk on a trail as we begin to identify trees. Meet at the Ranger Station.

Toddler Time @ Art Works Now

WSSC Centennial Community Celebration
Come celebrate 100 years with us! Unique block party will include music and entertainment (face painting, magician, moon bounce), games (sports, corn hole, obstacle course), a car show, WSSC Centennial Museum, food trucks and, of course, Willy Water!

Screech & Kestrel
Meet two of North Americaโ€™s smallest birds of prey: the American kestrel and eastern screech owl. Both expert hunters, the American kestrel uses its acrobatic prowess, while the eastern screech owlis a stealthy silent hunter.

STEM-tastic: Makey Makey Instruments (Ages 5-12)
Come learn abotu and play with MaKey MaKey, a device that can turn household objects into instruments. Drop in for hands-on experiments and activities.

Adelphi Pool Open House!
The Adelphi Pool is opening its doors to non-member friends and neighbors with the ONLY open house of the summer! A family can swim all day for $20 (go to link for coupon). Cheese on Wheels Food Truck and Maui Wowi (shaved ice) will be selling their food/drinks from 11am – 4pm. *We go to the Adelphi Pool & love it. Big pool, gated baby pool area and lots of friends and neighbors for kids to play with!
When: 10:30am – 9:30pm

Riding Bicycles to Experience Patuxent Research Refugeโ€™s North Tract (Ages 10+)

Experience the beauty of this natural area on two wheels while discovering local wildlife, plants and historical sites. Learn the importance of reducing your footprint and leaving no trace on this 12-mile guided bicycle ride. Bring your own bike, energy bar/snack, water bottle and helmet. Ride is weather dependent. Arts on a Roll Activity for NOI+F Family Concert
Join us for a fun, free crafting session with Arts on a Roll! Make a mask of your favorite character from the Peter and the Wolf story and take it with you to the orchestral performance and then home for more fun!
When: 2pm
Where: The Clarice, Front Plaza
Cost: Free!

Family Concert: Peter and the Wolf
Bring the whole family as members of the National Orchestral Institute perform Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, narrated this year by College Park City Council Member and UMD alumnus P.J. Brennan. Students will also give their own imaginative musical interpretations of beloved children’s books.
