One of my fave farmers markets moves indoors for the winter! Get your fresh and local produce right here! We love strolling around the Riverdale Park Farmers Market, buying some fresh, local produce, grabbing a bite from one of the vendors and then heading to Town Center Market for a tasty beverage.

Shitty diapers and mountains of laundry take up space not only in my home but also on my canvases. I’ve hacked paintings apart, sutured pieces back together, and assembled cloth and resin forms as a way to break free of limiting gender roles, and address my internalized disdain for the expectations around motherhood. My work is loud and messy— I’m looking for space to exist that way in the world. There will be beer.

Movin’ with the Mayor – Feldenkrais

Saturday Social Ride
This week we’ll head down the anacostia trails to Zeke’s Coffeshop. You’ll get a taste of riding on DC roads for a few miles. There are some hills. Pretty easy ride, you should be comfortable in light traffic, no drop, delicious coffee.  About 18 miles RT. Bring lock, cash/cc. Helmets required.

4th Biennial Silk Road Dance Festival
Wedding in Bukhara presents timeless dances and rituals from the hidden world of the ich kari – the women’s quarters- that welcome a new bride into the family. Silk Road Dance Company – and guest artists Irfan Otkur and Lana – recreate a 19th century, celebration with Uzbek, Tajik, Afghan, Persian, Uighur and Indian performances that reflect the ethnic diversity of Bukhara, an ancient oasis city on the Silk Road.
