Storytime PopUp! @ The Waterhole
Join us for stories, songs, fingerplays and more at this innovation collaboration between PGCMLS & Mt. Rainier’s fabulous organic juice & smoothie joint, The Waterhole. Best for 0-5 years old. Curious? Click here for my review of The Waterhole!

Indian Creek Playground
Any time this weekend, check out this really fun and creative playground designed after Berwyn Heights’ earliest residents – a group of Algonquian people known as Nacotchtank. Kiddos will have a blast climbing teepees, in an out of canoes and up and down dream catchers. If you get hungry afterwards, check out Fishnet in College Park!

Sunset Movie Series – Finding Dory

Wildlife Loop Adventure Scavenger Hunt (All Ages)
Using clues and locations, families and groups can drive the North Tract’s Wildlife Loop and nearby trails to hunt for sculptured stones, mystery objects, plants and animals while learning about the history of North Tract and other recreational opportunities. A camera or cell phone that takes pictures is recommended. Registration required: 301.497.5887

Free Rock Painting Event 
Bring your own rock or use one of ours! We’ll provide all the necessary materials. Come express your creativity and take home a cool piece of art!

Wildlife Conservation Day (All Ages)
Enjoy and explore being in nature through children’s crafts, family adventure scavenger hunts, live animals, fly tying, fishing, archery, firearm display, animal calls and dog retrieving demonstrations. Explore nature photography, learn about endangered animals, plants and other nature groups.When: 10am-2pm

Toddler Time @ Art Works Now
Open studio time for toddlers and their accompanying adults. Even the youngest children can explore a variety of age-appropriate art materials in a safe, fun environment. What to expect? Read my review of Toddler Time at Art Works Now.

Anacostia Riverwalk Trail – Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens
Get outside! Head to Bladensburg Waterfront Park (BWP) and explore the new 4-mile segment of the Trail connecting the District with BWP! We packed lunches, parked at BWP and then walked the Trail all the way to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. It was lovely! No traffic – just folks outside loving life! Grab a bit of respite at Kenilworth, maybe eat that lunch you packed and then head back to BWP, where the kids can play/climb/laugh in an old B & O caboose.

Playground at University Hills Duck Pond Park
Pack a picnic, check out the duck pond and then have fun at 1 of the 3 playgrounds at this park! (Follow bike path towards University Blvd to make way to 2 additional playgrounds.) There’s one right at the entrance off of Wells Blvd but if you wander a bit on the bike path you’ll find there’s an even bigger one just down to the right with structures for the toddler and 5-12 crew.

Come out for a day of family fun featuring live performances, food vendors and children’s activities. This year, our line-up includes: 4ThaGruv, Charis Jones, Secret Society, Faycez U Know and hte Chuck Brown Band! Bring your law chair and enjoy!

Car & Bike Show and Family Event
Annual car and bike show. Top 30 cars plus bike awards and specialty trophies.Cars of Hollywood scheduled to appear. Plenty of parking on grass ball field with a/c hall and Lounge. When: 12-3pm
Where: American Legion Post 60, 2 Main Street, Laurel
Cost: Free!
