Free Outdoor Family Movies at National Harbor this weekend!

This weekend includes Family-friendly Pollinator Fest in Brentwood, Double Dutch in Hyattsville, National Orchestral Institute‘s free performance Peter & the Wolf in College Park, Raptors Reign in Laurel and more!


Storytime PopUp! The Waterhole
Join us for stories, songs, fingerplays and more at this innovation collaboration between PGCMLS & Mt. Rainier’s fabulous organic juice & smoothie joint, The Waterhole. Best for 0-5 years old. Curious? Click here for my review of The Waterhole!

Xtreme Teens Xtreme Party
Come join us every 4th Friday of the month for a live DJ; PS4 competitions, Glow in the Dark Basketball, Trick Shot shootout, Giant games and so much more! Refreshments provided. Ages 10-17.
When: 7-10pm
Where: Berwyn Heights School Community Center, 6200 Pontiac Street, Berwyn Heights

Family Swim Night
Bring your pool toys and the whole family for an evening of fun! Entering families must have at least one adult. Families will be charged $1.00 for each additional non-family member, with a limit of three non-family members per group.
When: 8-10pm
Where: Greenbelt Aquatic and Fitness Center, 101 Centerway, Greenbelt
Cost: $5 for all families


Pollinator Fest
Celebrate the wonderful world of pollinators!  There will be family-friendly activities: honey tasting & pollinator crafts. At noon, there’ll be a short presentation on gardening and then planting a native plant garden in Bartlett Park!

Toddler Time @ Art Works Now
Open studio time for toddlers and their accompanying adults. Even the youngest children can explore a variety of age-appropriate art materials in a safe, fun environment. What to expect? Read my review of Toddler Time at Art Works Now.

Hot Fun in the Summertime Picnic
Take a break from the heat and enjoy yourself at our picnic! We will have music, grilled hot dogs and burgers with all the fixings, skating and cake.  Come join the summer fun! If inclement weather, event will be canceled.

Double Dutch @ the Library 
Join us for some fantastic jump roping action as DC Retro Jumpers will be on hand to show you (and your family and friends) how to Double Dutch! Ages 6 and up.

Raptors Reign

Join special guest and licensed falconer, Rodney Stotts, as he shares the power of nature through discussions and up-close encounters with birds of prey.  Drop-in program.  No registration necessary.

Bugs in the Garden
Discover the heroes and villains living in the garden.  Build a bug hotel to put into our garden or take home. Ages 5+

Teen Fest 2017 
Celebrate the end of school at teen fest.  The day will be full of fun, friends and food.  Enjoy:
Live entertainment, DJ on the main stage, 26′ Climbing Rock Wall, Video Game Trailer, Bumper Cars, sports cage, food, swimming and more! Ages 10-17.
When: 5:30-9pm

Arts-On-A-Roll Van Activities on Front Plaza
Join us for a fun, free crafting session with Arts on a Roll!  Make a mask of your favorite character from Peter and the Wolf  story and take it with you to the orchestral performance and then home for more fun.
When: 2pm
Where: UMD’s The Clarice, Front Plaza, College Park
Cost: Free!

Family Concert:  Peter and the Wolf 
Members of the members of the National Orchestral Institute will perform Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf and give their own imaginative musical interpretations of beloved children’s books. The family-fun continues with a Arts-on-a-Roll van activities on the front plaza before and after the concert. When: 3pm

Movies on the Potomac – Double Feature – Babe & Sing 
Nothing says summer like an evening under the stars! Pack your chairs, grab food to go from one of our delicious dining establishments, and meet us at the Plaza screen for a FREE evening of fun for all ages! As movie times/dates may change due to weather, check website for updates.
When: 4pm
Where: National Harbor, 165 Waterfront Street, Oxon Hill
Cost: Free!
