Kids’ Weekend Guide! April 7th-9th

Kiddos can burn off some energy this weekend at the Azalea Classic and the Hare & Hound Fun Run, then replenish their sugar quotient with a variety of Easter Egg hunting opps or maybe some Easter Egg Decorating or a PEEPS Eating Contest?  Maybe a Puppet Show Storytime is more your thing?  Either way, all these great ideas and more are in this Kids’ Weekend Guide!

Toddler Time @ Art Works Now
Open studio time for toddlers and their accompanying adults. DIY Pom Poms: With help from the teacher or their parents, Toddler will create pom poms out of yarn. Then they will be encouraged to trim the pom pom to practice cutting.

Azalea Classic 
Join the University Park community for a morning of family-friendly fun and fitness for the 16th Annual Azalea Classic. The Azalea Classic has a race for everyone! Choose from our USATF certified 5K, our 1 Mile Challenge or our 1K Family Fun Run. All races take place on quiet, azalea-lined streets in University Park.
When: 8:30am (1 Mi. Challenge); 8:45am (1K Family Run); 9:05 (5K)

Great Magruder Park Egg Hunt
Join us for a fun-filled breakfast with a visit by a V.I.B. – Very Important Bunny.  Reserve your space by calling 301-985-5021 or by using this form.

The Hare & Hound Fun Run (for children & families)
The Hare and Hound is fun for all ages. It is like a treasure hunt where participants follow clues in order to stay on course. The approximately 1K course is flat and will go through the woods and participants may get muddy. The course is not suitable for strollers or dogs.
When: 9-10:30am

Cost: Pre-registration is $5.00. Race Day Registration is $10.

Annual Spring Egg Hunt! 
It’s the City of College Park’s Annual Spring Egg Hunt!  There’ll be face painting, games, prizes, arts and crafts, meet the Bunny and more!

Vansville Elementary School Health & Wellness Fair!

2nd Annual Peeps Day! 
Join us for the second annual PEEPS Day, celebrating everyone’s favorite treat!  We’ll have kids’ activities, a DJ, the PEEPS mascot, a movie and the National Harbor World PEEPS Eating Championship, hosted by Major League Eating! There will also be a moon bounce maze, a climbing wall, cornhole, facepainting and more!

Smithsonian Associates Discovery Theatre on Tour: Mother Earth and Me

M-NCPPC Presents: JAPA’s Spring Cabaret
Join in as the Spring class of the Junior Academy for the Performing Arts struts their stuff performing some of Broadway’s greatest and most loved moments!  Tip: Neighbors with young children have attended great, free performances at The Clarice and have described them as “laid back” with a recommendation to sit towards the back/near an exit so that you may gracefully leave when your kids run out of steam!
